Black with a ring beige head. Aroma of cocoa, tonka, vanilla, cinnamon, light fruity chilli and dark malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light chilli warmth and soft carbonation.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of sweet candi sugar, caramel, maple, chocolate, licorice, vanilla and burned malt. Taste has bitter maple, burned caramel, vanilla, candi sugar, sweet bourbon, booze, malt, molasses and a boozy sweet finish. Yes, the maple, sugar and vanilla are really sweet, but for me the bourbon hotness provides good base for it. Nice one.

Infame...c'est le mot qui m'est venu lorsque j'ai pris une gorgée de ce breuvage... Je suis tout de même allé jusqu'à la troisième gorgée avant de renoncer totalement. Vous me direz que j'aurais dû me méfier car pour aller imaginer une quadruple tourbée vieillie en fût de vin rouge avec de la poire et du sirop d'érable, il faut avoir un pète au casque. Le visuel est sur un ambré foncé limpide, sans mousse et une très faible effervescence. Le nez est très peu expressif avec la poire qui ressort surtout. En bouche, la poire ressort également bien avec des arômes de vieux vin rouge passé légèrement tourbé. Difficile d'en dire plus, je n'ai pas réussi à m'en infliger davantage.

ABV: 13.0%. Clear medium red colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy honey, cherry, sour honey - berries, earthy, light peat - whisky. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration. cherry, honey, sweet fruit - sweet berry, sweet honey, peat - whisky, earthy notes. Did not like the peat part of it ! Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is warming. [20190928]

33 cl bottle at Chinaski Lavapiés. A very dark brown pour, almost jet black, with a huuuuge tan-to-beige head, lots of retention. Aroma is very intense: coffee and more coffee, cocoa, leather, tobacco. Dry mouth, medium density (was expecting it to be thick as a brick), nice acidity that balances the tremendous bitterness. Long- lasting, smoky finish with espresso notes. A very nice after-dinner ale.

Bottle, 330 ml shared with Max, Miro B and Cvrle. Black with small beige head. Chocolate, roasted, coffee, some maple, vanilla, nice bitter finish. Smooth. Medium bodied.
