Bitter with not much hop character it's ok but a bit appley Acetaldehyde not sure if this is due to the pub or just a trait of the beer.

Cask at PoW, Aberdeen. It pours clear dark ruby brown with a medium fluffy brown head. The aroma is bitter sweet, dark roasted malt, toasty, charred, dark fruits, cherry cola, Dr Pepper and molasses. The taste is initially smooth , bitter - sweet, dark roasted malt, light umami, salted liquorice, dark fruits, Dr pepper, cola, plum pudding, fig, prune, treacle / molasses and some fruit cake. Keg draught at the Spotted Dog, Digbeth. Light to mid-gold, clear with loads of visible carbonation. A tiny little white head. Light malty and slightly metallic aroma. Taste is sweet but the sweetness doesn't run away with it. A little bit of dryness in the finish. Exceedingly heavy carbonation. It's a step up from the most macro of lagers, it's not a great beer but enjoyable enough with some decent flavour.
