Description
The Budelse Brouwerij (Budels Brewery) is a family business that still values the traditions that have guided the brewery for centuries now. It's been at the very heart of the village of Budel in Brabant since 1870. Founded 150 years ago by Gerardus Arts as Brouwerij de Hoop (the Hope Brewery). Today, the fourth generation of the Arts family is at the helm and we are just as committed to the brewing as our ancestors.

Bottle. Clear light to medium yellow color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, malt dust, light toasted, moderate to light heavy honey. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (270308)

Brown beer with thin beige head. Flakes of yeast is not very temptating. Aroma is very sweet: mallts and sugar. Flavour is not aroma-like but sweetness is appropriate, roasted and rather bitter. Surprisingly watery to drink because sugary aroma and flavour normally makes body to more dence. Changes better when beer is warmer. This is too typical beer without anything personal.

Bottle, de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Dark brown colour, thin white lingering head. Malty, chocolate, raisin.aroma. Taste is more of the same, quite sweet and smooth, but lacks a knockout punch somehow.

Small, white head over orangey-golden beer. Grassy nose, old cookies, slightly toasted, hot malts. Peanuts/arachide flavour, toasted, fatty acids, with a harsh bitterish background. Quite watery, despite the aggressive MF. Bio-watered-down malt likker.

Very good, fine & dense white head over fully hazy pineapplejuice-like beer. Perfumey nose, some childrens’ sweets flavouring-like; citrus & citruspeel, coriander more than probable. Sweet-sour, obvious coriander. Spicy taste threatens a moment to dominate, but then retreating in favour of a drier balance & finish. Wheat slickness, light to medium bodied. Unobtrusive, inoffensive and unremarkable witbier.

Medium white head quickly shrinks into a thin white film. Yellow body. Grainy mealy aroma with barn notes. Sweetish earthy resiny taste with buttery fruity notes. Slick, smooth mouthfeel. Grainy, sharpish background. Touches of straw and rubbery. Not bad. (0.33l bottle, Spar, Dublin.)

Bottle, 6.5%. Bready aroma. Golden colour, very small white head. Some small floaties. Spicy flavour, quite malty. Peppery and dusty with spicy hops. Tastes a little bready and old, but is not past BB date.

’Bio’ Label:
Light golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of light malt, fresh hops and some nice coriander seed freshness. Light to Medium-bodied; Great fresh & light flavours of malt and nice hops grace the beer. Aftertaste clean and refined - the beer shows very nicely! No harsh flavours or bitter alcohol tastes to speak of! Overall, great to try - a nice smooth & simple beer! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased at BioMarkt in Amsterdam, Holland on 28-December-2007, for €0.80!
