Description
The Budelse Brouwerij (Budels Brewery) is a family business that still values the traditions that have guided the brewery for centuries now. It's been at the very heart of the village of Budel in Brabant since 1870. Founded 150 years ago by Gerardus Arts as Brouwerij de Hoop (the Hope Brewery). Today, the fourth generation of the Arts family is at the helm and we are just as committed to the brewing as our ancestors.

(bottle, from bierkoning) Clear, ruby colour with a mid-sized, slowly lacing beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with caramel, cacao and subtle fruity notes. Sweet flavour, medium to full body, smooth carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with caramel and soft underlying fruity notes; sweet, malty, slightly alcoholic finish with faint bittering hops. Tastes like an average dark Bock.

(bottle, from bierkoning) Clear, golden colour with a short foamy white head. Moderately sweet, slightly toasted malt aroma, bready with a tinge of honey and herbs. Initially medium-sweet malty, bready taste, medium bodied with a crispy carbonation; moderately dry, bitter-sweet finish. Not perfectly balanced.

Very pale. Weak soapy head quickly disappears. Weak aroma, no malt or hop present just a slight smell of frozen peas. Taste is thin and flat. Flavour is weak but slightly bitter. This beer is 5% alcohol but feels like half that. This is a "biological" beer. Come back nasty chemicals, all is forgiven!

Very cloudy dark yellow colour with a thin but tight white head. Fresh smell with some spiciness, coriander. Flavour is quite sweet and sugary with some citrus coming through and a little coriander. Sits very easy in the mouth, great for a long session. Overall an easy drinkning fresh beer that lacks a little kick. At least there’s no scent of banana though as with many other whites.

Clear golden color, small white head. Strong grassy hoppy nose - kind of cheap and ashy. Sweetish malty flavor - corn-like sweetness. Grassy hoppyness. "El cheapo" feeling.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Pale amber, brief head. Aroma of boiled vegetables and glue. Sweet with clean mouthfeel. Some toffee that battles to shine through the thick layers of glue. No bitterness. While the desired flavoures are subtle the flaws are brash and all over the place. Simply unacceptable!

Draught. Amber colour, mediumsized creamy head. Caramel malts, lots of citrus and hops in aroma. Flavour is citrus, melt and some hops. Almost like drinking 7 up or sprite mixed with beer.

Honey golden color, not much head. Fresh hoppy (Saaz?) aroma, slightly papery. Cut grass hoppyness and bubblegum in the flavor, grassy aftertaste. Drinkable, although a bit "cheap" like all Budels beers.
