Always experimenting and expanding

We brew in small batches in our 15 barrel brewery and we’re always experimenting with new recipes. Dan and Pat ,with previous experience from the wine world, get to marry the fascination with the natural world and the art and science of fermentation.

Dan keeps cooking up some good recipes and Patrick the builder keeps finding ways to add more tanks and increase our production.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a nice large white foamy head with good retention with some lacing. Aroma of floral hops notes with citrusy notes is pleasant but somewhat overshadowed by some bitterness. Taste is also dominated by citrusy hops with light tropical fruit notes with some bitter notes distinguishable. Body is full enough with good carbonation. Closer to your typical IIPA then some of the other beers from this brewer which are closer to Vermont IPA with less bitterness then the level that would be found in this beer.

Bottle: Poured a hazy bright yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing notes. Aroma of floral citrusy hops with light dank notes is pretty enticing. Taste is also dominated by dank hops notes with some citrusy flavours and a dry aftertaste. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Nice mix of dry hops but sometime too many varieties end up shadowing each other which is what may have happened here.

Bottle bought at Craft Beer Cellar. Aroma is a good mix of conifer, citrus and tropical fruits but with a slight cabbage smell. Taste is dominated by conifer in a very thin and watery texture. Standard session. Just OK.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy dark blond color, small head. Strong hoppy aroma, both fruity and resiny, a bit animal, with nice citrusy hints. Dry and lean mouthfeel, unobtrusive malt profile (a good choice) with light cereals touch, and then strong bitterness. It seems unfresh, but also it suggests that if fresh this could be excellent.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright yellow color ale with a nice large pure white foamy head with excellent retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of grapefruit juice is just about perfect. Taste is also dominated by fresh grapefruit juice with nice floral undertones, light residual sugar notes and pretty much zero bitterness. Body is about average with good carbonation. Another incredible Vermont IPA!

22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out truckloads of resinous hops, piney hops, some tropical fruits, and just enough biscuity malt backing. Flavour is fresh, with a good mix of piney hops, light tropical fruits, resinous hops, and biscuity malt to back. Super fresh and bright, with an excellent hop blend. Excellent stuff.

Tasting at Ferris’; bottled 02/18/2015
Hazy blond color, paler than all your usual IIPAs. The aroma has a very light animal character, musky, forest, pot; very nice. Light mouthfeel, fairly dry for the style, skunky, resiny, with delicate fruity touch.
Original, excellent.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a clear yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma is pretty dank, with dank herbal hops and a touch of malt sweetness. Flavour follows suit, with loads of dank resinous hops, loads of pine, and just enough biscuity malt. Wonderfully hoppy and dry, very dank from what I assume are citra hops. Excellent stuff.
