At the brewery, 2/7/14
Drab olive tinged brown body sports a light tan head, moderate retention.
Dusty chocolate and hints of roast fleck the nose. An interesting mix of sweet malt but with also a touch of light acidity from the hops. Brown sugar, light vanilla and a touch of citrus round out the nose on the end.
Caramel and a touch of sweet raisins make up the malt flavors, while the hops are certainly less pronounced here than in the IPA, but certainly still quite fresh and lightly acidic. Didnt know the abv at the time, but the 7 percent must stem somewhat from the maple syrup, as the body is still quite light and drinkable. Some more maple/brown sugar-like notes on the finish, with a bit of dryness from the darker malts and some bitterness from the hops. Well-structured, straightforward brown ale. Loose, lightly slick texture, medium carbonation.

Couldn’t get any info about this, and there’s little to be had on the internet...It pours a fairly clear bronze with some fleeting white head and minimal carbonation. Not much to be discerned from the nose which is predominantly grapey. Kind of like chardonnay? Not sure. Perhaps some lactic acid? Flavor follows suit with an odd and minimally tart grape-like character finishing with a moderately sweet honey and lactic acid-like note. All I can guess is some sort of acidulated malt, but who knows, could be anything. It’s not sour, just lightly tart at best. More correctly, it’s just somewhat acidic. Not bad or offensive or anything, just not quite as billed. Loose carbonation, medium to medium-light body, no alcohol noted. Gotta be acidulated malt...would love to know the truth!

Large white head shows good retention, atop a light golden-amber body with high clarity and plentiful carbonation.
Some earthiness combines quickly with the hops, in the nose, which lend oranges, grapefruit and some light grassy/herbal character. Sweet malts finish off the aroma while no alcohol or flaws are noted. A touch of pininess as it warms, perhaps a bit harsh and the earthy, not quite dirty yeastiness never fully leaves.
Strong acidic orange flavor from the hops, with moderately sweet base malts, showing ample attenuation, providing a reasonable body and texture. A bit of lazy carbonation allows the malt sweetness and hop acids to build up on the palate, but the flavors are quite true and pretty clean. Not really an East Coast IPA in the sense that it’s malt driven, but certainly more malty than many.

Golden raisin colored body is moderately hazy, with a foamy white head that shows moderate retention, light lacing. Plentiful carbonation.
Brewed with raw ginger and it shows, giving that spicy, invigorating kick to the nose and with enough room for some dry wheat and light honey-dough-like maltiness to peek through. Some dry yeastiness dulls a bit (could be the actual wheat) but otherwise a very ample gingery aroma for an otherwise not spectacularly aromatic style.
Supple, nearly creamy body provides more than enough support to the spicy ginger, which is certainly the main show, though not overdone by any means. The maltiness shows more sweetness than is typical for an American wheat beer, with some light syrupiness that is quite honey-like but actually plays quite well with the ginger. Soft texture, no alcohol, moderate carbonation.

22oz bottle pours a clear gold with some bright, white head. Nose has some crystallized ginger, some malt sweetness, some lemon, some lemon grass, earthy, a little coriander. Flavor is sweet, a little chalky, some mild ginger on the tongue, coriander, some straw, some lemon. Clean finish.
