2022 vintage at Armsby Abbey, 1/1/24. Clear dark maroon. Light tan head sits at thin cover. Really nice English feel to it with big raisin-plum-prune from malt and yeast, backed by a fun helping of vinous port and gentle oak. No booze, doesn't feel too sugary. Soft, rich, fruity and malty with excellent barrel character adding dryness on the finish. There's a strong vanilla note from somewhere that is absolutely killer. Deft balance of sweet and dry, malty and attenuated. And that fruit and vanilla lingering is amazing. Great barrel character, good acidity. Not too heavy on the raisin-prune. Just a pinch of syrupiness up front before drying out nicely. Lovely spiciness in the final dh from the barrel.

37..5cl bottle pours with a deep dark sludge dark black body that supports a thin mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting dark roasted malts and boozy chocolate. The taste delivers smooth dark roasted malts that teeters on highly roasted malts. To midway it picks up some chocolate and a modest boozy warmth into the finish. This comes together seamlessly. Great sipper.

Can from J&B Craft Drinks 12/11/2023 Medium sweet fruity and malty with a nice mix of stonefruit and citrus action with some tangerine, peach and mango, citrus peel, pine, sweet malty backbone, nice resinous bitter edged hoppy notes, kind of east meets west coast action. Nice one.

37cl Bottle pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a quick hit of port plum like fruity esters and then heading into subtle malt nuances and growing molasses and smooth bourbon. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of Port plum like sweet fruitiness, molasses and varied and integrated malt goodness. To midway it picks up deeper notes of sweet smooth caramel and molasses mingling with smooth bourbon and a boozy warmth. Wow. This works on all levels. Stellar offering.

750 mL bottled Dec 2022, drunk 11/25/23. Clear, soft, rose-tinted golden. Small, white head, low retention. Interesting mix of oak, fruity yeast and brett-lacto. Mellow, aromatic, clean, lightly funky with earth and mineral. Soft, malty, well-attenuated with juicy Brett and lacto notes. No edge. Good biscuity, rustic grains and honey-like malt notes as well. Lovely house yeast.
