Bottle from Mother Kelly’s. It pours murky golden-amber with a gigantic foamy beast of a head. The nose is juicy, doughy, lemony sherbet, tangerine, apricot, peach, earth, light vanilla and oak. The taste is rather bitter, very woody, peppery spice, orange, lemon rind, varnish, earth, bready malts and some alcohol warmth with a dry, peppery finale. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Rather nice, but the carbonation is a touch high if truth be told. Good stuff anyhow.

Very hazy dark gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild sourness jars against a little earthyness. Citric pith, bitter lemon and grapefruit. Skewed floralness. Dry and slightly bitter finish. The flavours didn’t gel that well for me, found it slightly hard going.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. 5.7% boost. Cloudy orange. Open, bubbly, lasting, dirty white head. Juicy citra. Lots of orange and lime. Grainy malts. Taste is dry. Some pithy bitterness. Lightly sour. Punchy, lively palate. The juiciness fades throughout, and by the finish is mostly dry, and light tart. A bit too dry, for me, maybe.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. Mucky gold. Lively, bubbly, ring of dirty white. Fairly lactic overall. Some earthy, straw notes. Dig deeper and there’s lemon rind. Some gentle spicy hop. Taste is crisp dry, and light sour. Clean, bone dry palate. Finishes earthy dry, and light tart.

Very hazy amber - brown beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light, airy and fairly dry. Decent fine carbonation. Light and sweetish malts. Sandalwood kicks in fast and completely dominates. Dry, perfumey and mildly bitter. Just traces of pine and floralness. Dry finish leaves a perfume linger. Mmmmm - challenging! Like Brazilian Amburana, Sandalwood is big, strong and perfumey. Really needs something else here to balance things out. Certainly interesting, just low on drinkability.

Bottle. Tall Boys, Leeds. Thick as a bag, cloudy gold. Thick, bubbly, lasting, off white head. Lots of pithy lemon. Bready. Grainy. Fresh cut grass. Then more lemon. Lime too. Very citric. Taste is astringently tart. Some bitterness, that rises. Crisp, tart palate. Lots of fine carbonation. Finishes pithy, zesty, tart bitter. Tasty gear. The tartness negates the ABV. Nice level of hoppage on the close. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Tall Boys, Leeds. Very dark, cola brown. Thin, glossy, sticky, pale tan head. Woody, dark, chocolatey malts. Hint of fruity coffee bean. Taste is light dry, with a woody bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Finishes light dry, Iight bitter, with maybe a hint of smoke on the close. Tell me this is a dry stout, and I’d believe it.

Bottle at home from beermerchants.com. Pale yellow coloured pour with a light haze and a stable white froth. Aroma is punch y zesty lemon , nice floral notes and later lovely mixed fruit salad, passion fruit. Nice sharp sour edge to the aroma. Flavour is composed of bready, wheat grains, tangy sour, sweet and sour, pineapple, passion fruit. Palate is a bit flabby grains, moderate carbonation. Some grain tanin. A little bit too sweet, but im digging the tropical fruit and sour components.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, grapefruit, orange pith and lime. Flavour of grapefruit, salted lemon and tonic water. Thin body with a spritzy texture. Very fizzy. Does what it says on the tin - extremely sour. I like it, but I wouldn’t have more than one.
