Description
Drink Hiver, save bees.
Un[bee]lievable right?

Well, the truth is we’ve been as committed to bees as we have been to beer since we started brewing our flagship fresh and natural blonde beer back in 2013.

Intriguing. Lots of honey aroma and taste, but not overly sweet. Light and smooth.

Cask at the brewery tap, Bermondsey, 17/06/17. Clear golden orange with a decent off white head. Nose is tangerine, straw, toasted malts, soft bread, honey tunes. Taste comprises sweet malts, corn bread, orange peel, lemon rind, honey nut corn flakes, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with moderate bitterness and a honey kiss. Ok for what it is but not something I’d be likely to return to given a choice.

Keg at the brewery tap, Bermondsey, 17/06/17. Amber pour with a reddish glint topped with a light beige cap. Nose is toasted brown sugar, honey melt, fruit cake, light spice. Taste comprises honey coated raisins, biscuit crumbs, brown bread, malty tones, brown sugar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dyring close. Fine for what it is ... preferred this to the blonde slightly as less sweet.

Keg at the brewery tap, Bermondsey, 17/06/17. Clear golden yellow with a decent off white head. Nose is pale malts, light bread dough, grains, faint florals, honey evident, light citric peel. Taste comprises toasted grains, honey drizzle, Golden Grahams, light spice balance, faint citric rinds, floral bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Does what it says on the tin, not really for me but fine.

500ml bottle from Producers’ Stall at NEC 2016 - Pale gold body, no head. Nose is as expected honey, with a weird artificial sweetener thing going on. Taste is dry, bit of malt, but over ridden by honey. No.

The Tap at the Craft Beer Shop, Little Chalfont. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy long-lasting white head. The aroma is malt yeast, light fruit, honey notes. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, yeasty, malt, light sweet honey, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden amber with a neat lacy head. Nose - burnt bread with a honey edge. The honey persists through the finish. Taste - massive honey note and a general feel of honey nut cornflakes. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - decent. But honey works better with strong dark beers.

Cask at the Haymarket. Pours clear golden amber with no head, but I’m going to blame that on the pour. Aromas of honey, floral hops. Taste is vaguely medicinal. Odd. Sweet finish. I’m glad that money is going to bee charities, but I’m not a fan of honey beers generally.
