330 ml bottle, as Fabal Lager. Hiver is not mentioned on the label, but the address is the same. ABV is 4%. Bought at Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. Clear pale golden, small white head. Moderately sweetish aroma with notes of pilsener malts, grass, honey and flowers. Moderate carbonation, soft but moderately citric mouthfeel. The fairly crisp flavour has a little citrus, and decent grassy and herbal hops.

Bottle from local Sainsburys Has an enticing nose of honey and golden syrup. Pours the classic “bitter brown” with a small transient off-white head. Carbonation is higher on the tongue than appears to the eye. Honey and malts in the mouth combine with a hint of orange citrus. Has a sweetness that lingers in the finish. Pleasant enough, but not something I would seek out again.

Bottle. Clear light brown/dark amber with a decent white head. Aroma of malt lozenges, honey and plums. Taste is malts, honey, caramel, dried fruits and some metal. Sweetness starts low but grows unfortunately... Moderate bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Ok for a self-proclaimed Honey Ale I guess (but way too sweet for my liking).

Keg, 4.9 % abv, half-pint, shared with Finn at Hiver Beers. Creamy white head, clear golden body, crocheted lacing. Smell of honeyed malt and fruit. Honeyed sweet malty flavours joined by a ripe fruity twist. Malt-fruity ending with honey. Still a tad too sweet. Okay in smaller amounts. (Bermondsey, London 19.10.2019).

Poured from a bottle, as Hiver Brown Ale, half-pint, shared with Finn at Hiver Beers. Deep rosewood body, fair lacing from a film-type layer. Prominent aroma of honey, mid-dry. Honed caramel flavours. Honeyed sweet ending. Clean on the swallow. Gets too sweet in the long run. (Bermondsey, London 19.10.2019).
