Description
Drink Hiver, save bees.
Un[bee]lievable right?

Well, the truth is we’ve been as committed to bees as we have been to beer since we started brewing our flagship fresh and natural blonde beer back in 2013.

Side by side tasting of this and it's sister 'Hiver The Honey Ale' at home on 11th May 2018. Just me playing, poured into old 'Home Ales' half-pint tankards. Clear light golden body, white topping. Definite honey aroma and taste, very little hop bitterness, some malty sweetness in with honey flavour. Actually quiet nice!

On tap at the brewery tap Bermondsey . So just your 3 new beer bars since last time then. Hazy amber russet colour lasting beige head. poured from a mini cask. Well it's not very good. Some earthy hop. Some sweet honey. It's ok no bad flavours just a clash of flavours. Sweet and bitter. Some floral hop on the finish. Distinctive finish. Fine.

Draft at the Lamb, Bloomsbury, London. Pours hazy golden amber with a lasting creamy/foamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, honey, fruit, caramel, and golden syrup with light floral and herbal notes. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Honey syrupy finish. Ok.

Kwg at Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green. Low key honey aroma. Light gold. Scant white head. Imediate honey sweetness followed by a bitter core. Light bodied. Sticky. Fizzy carbonation. Low key astringent finish. More character than I expected, a.decent enough bitter edge so the honey is not overdone.

Rocky white head stayed on a translucent, light brown, still body. Minimal aroma of malt & honey. Medium bodied, sticky & cloying. Quite well carbonated. Tastes like a cup of tea with honey added. A sweet sticky mess.

Bottle from Whole Foods. It pours clear deep reddish - brown with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet, honey upfront, caramel, fruit cake, cola and rivita. The taste is fairly sweet, honey, caramel, cola, brown bread, toasty brown sugar, fruit cake, wood and nut with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth to it. Fair.

Cask @ Hiver Brewery, London. Deeper golden with a thin head. Has a definite honey influence, especially in its nose, and it possibly makes things feel slightly weaker than it is. It certainly provides a smoothness for the ale.

Bottle at the brewery tap - Bermondsey. Purs clear, rich gold with a small, foamy head. Nice stuff, with rich honey and ample bready malts. Low bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. OK balance in the finish, with more honey, toasty malts, dates. Fine.
