Description
Oakham Ales is a multi-award winning brewery with a worldwide reputation for its innovative approach and for the quality and consistency of its brews. Oakham started brewing in Rutland back in 1993 and is now based in Peterborough (Cambridgeshire).

Famous as the first brewery in the UK to brew a beer with 100% Citra hops, Oakham celebrated its 25th anniversary in October 2018 and we’re looking forward to many more exciting years of brewing.

Cask at St Albans Beer & Cider Festival, St Albans, Herts. A hazy golden orange/yellow coloured pour with a medium white bubbly head on top. Hoppy, mango, peach, tropical fruit aroma & taste. Decent.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2025. A clear pale yellow straw coloured pour with a fading white head. Aroma is semi sweet, sharp, lemon, midget gems, pear, earthy, quince. Flavour is composed of crisp light grains, lemon, midget gems. Delicate fruit. Palate is semi sweet, crisp, moderate carbonation.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2025. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is semi sweet, stewed fruit, apple, nutty custard, semi sweet, jammy fruits. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, grass. Orange rind, vanilla, light tang little flabby, apple,. Palate is semi sweet, oily hops, chewy, decent cask condition. Hoppy.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2025 a opaque black brown coloured pour with a lasting loose light tan head. Aroma is dusty earth, earthy roast, vanilla, cakey malts, dried fruits. Liquorice. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, liquorice, meaty roast, light char.. Mineral. Palate is semi sweet, oily, light tang, moderate carbonation... Light tang. Solid stout.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2025. A clear pale gold coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is light grains, lemon rind, grass, straw. Light tang on the nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, juicy melon, mixed citrus, grass, pear. Resinous hop. Assertive hop bitterness. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, good cask condition. Drinks well.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2025. A clear dull gold orange coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is soft citrus, grassy hop, orange rind, melon, biscuity grains, light toffee. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty, lemon rind, grass, hedgerow hop, herbal notes. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, decent cask condition. Decent enough.

Golden blonde topped with a white head.
Nose is mixed citric flesh, grass, melon, mandarin.
Taste comprises orange zest, grass, papaya, pineapple, light pine tickle.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy hop bitterness.
Tidy session gear.

Golden to light amber topped with an off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is bitter orange, grass, hint of grapefruit.
Taste comprises melon, orange zest, citric tinged straw, grapefruit.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close splashed with juicy hop bitterness.
Tidy cask IPA ... again just wish they'd put out more truer to ABV ... 6%+.

Clear pale gold with a frothy white head and a grapefruit and hop aroma. Light malt up front with a big kick of grapefruit bitterness and some fruity notes ahead of a long, dry bitter finish.
