Description
Twisted Barrel Ale exploded onto the Coventry beer scene on 29th March 2014.

After months of hard work developing a small selection of beers that would appeal to Coventry's patrons thirsting for our unique mix of modern and classical styles and methods we launched our beers at Coventry's number 1 bottle bar, Inspire, and it was a huge success. Originally brewing on a 60 litre kit, we described ourselves as 'the UK's first Pico-brewery'.

20th June 2015 and we held another launch. This time in our brand new Brewery and Tap House at FarGo Village. With a new 1000 litre brewing kit and an entirely new brand design from Stewart Easton, we've finally become the brewery we always set out to be. Almost 2 years later we transferred our bar and brewing kit into a space about 5 times larger than before, we're still serving the best beer at FarGo Village.

Keg at Eebria, 07/05/16. Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent off White covering.Nose is light pine, toasted malt, caramel, bitter orange, grapefruit. Taste comprises citric pith, grapefruit, pine, straw, earthy hop, orange marmalade, bitter rise. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Solid old skool DIPA ... harsh at times but balanced with tropicana and hop interplay. Decent.

Keg at Twisted Barrel Brewery Tap, Coventry, Friday 29th April 2016 I believe that this was described as an UK/US beer, the ingredients would certainly suggest this with British malt, American yeast and an interesting hop selection. It tasted good, it was bettered by others over the evening but the hops linked well, or was fruity and punchy but not tropical. Juicy but then dry, not too sweet, just decent beer. Bottle from Beer Gonzo shop, Earlsdon, Coventry, Saturday 30th April 2016 Pours light to mid amber in colour with a sticky white head. Spices on the nose with a little burnt coriander and gently toasted wood. Soft in the mouth, a little bit of vanilla and toffee and spice, lovely sweetness. Nice warmth but never tastes at all boozy. Bottle from Beer Gonzo shop, Earlsdon, Coventry, Saturday 30th April 2016 Pours darker than I was expecting, mid amber with a slim white to off white head. A touch metallic on the bite, the hops combine very well with the malt, dry finish, get the Munich metallic lagery edge. Like it l. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
