On tap at CiderCider, Rotterdam. Very pale greenish gold. Mild apple juice aroma with a light whiskey touch. Sweet apple, very gentle, nice balance with peat and barrel. Refreshing, light body. Floral touch, soft vanilla. Fruity palate coating, quite complex. Soft to moderate carbonation.

Bag in a box, PoW Farnborough. Hazy apple peel aroma. White gold. No head. Medium sweet with bitter streak that continues through into the finish. A boozy warmth to the apple. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long dry finish. Not bad. Could happily drink a few.

330ml bottle from Dobbies garden centre, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold, sparkling, big elderflower nose. Taste is overly sweet, too floral, too much elderflower, underlying sweet apple, syrup. Like most Thistly Cross ciders this is just too sweet to be palatable, Soph liked it though.

330ml bottle from local garden centre. Pours clear pale gold. Aroma is syrup, stewed apple, sweet. Taste continues, a little too sweet, clean, little in the way of tannin or acidty, distant whisky notes. Flavoursome but not ticking the boxes for me.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours orange/pinkish with practically no foam. Aroma has a very evident feeling of strawberries. Body is fairly dense with good carbonation. Taste is pretty sweet. Finish is average.

Pale yellow. Sweet cider flavor with a smokey and woody taste. Unusual but doesn’t really go as good together as a whiskey barrel beer.

330ml can. Pale yellow gold colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of cooked apple, hint of sulphur. Taste is sweetish, apple, cooked apple, green apple, fruity and citric, with a drying sulphur hint. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry clean finish. Quite drinkable.

I was reading about this cider and then saw it on Rakuten so picked one up, I think it was just 300¥ or so too! Thistly Cross 6.9% Whiskey Cask Cider Clear gold with a fizzy champagne like head that quickly vanished. The aroma is sweet apples, mild sweet whiskey and oak. Full bodied but ending very dry. This is delicious with a big bold fruity apple at first then sweet whiskey notes with a touch of oak and smoke while in the aftertaste you get tart apples priming you for the next sip. Excellent and good value. If you see it in Japan get it.

Ginger flavor is a bit artificial.
