Hello, we’re Thistly Cross, Scotland’s award winning farmhouse ciders, born out of a passion for making cider in the best possible way, combined with belief in the quality of Scottish produce, and asking ‘why not?’. Established as a collaboration between farmer, Ian Rennie, and artist-turned-cidermaker, Peter Stuart, in 2008, Thistly Cross has gained a reputation for making ciders that people rave about.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is reddish amber. Aroma and taste are rich strawberry marmalade, malt, hops, fruits and has a sweet strawberry finish.

Bottle @Ulfborg. Reddis amber, clear with small white head. Strawberry and sour apple aroma. Sweet, sugary strawberry with a little berry acidity.

Orange colour. Light apple aroma. Strawberries not very present. Very sweet apple and strawberry flavor. Average finish. Watery palate.

Bottle @ Fonefan tasting. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet apples and strawberry jam. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet finish. 080122

Tap at the White Swan, JDW, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear yellow straw colour with a bubbly white head. The aroma is green apple. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a crisp, fresh, fresh apple, acidic, light herbal palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cloudy copper body and okay foam. Weak strawberry juice, vague apple. Taste is strawberry juice, vague apple, finishing watery. Rather disappointing.

Has okay foam on a light gold body. aroma is murky sweet apple. Taste is okay sweet apple, finishes crisp. It's adequate, straight ahead.

Dark golden colour with no head. I'm surprised about hiw sweet this is. Very sweet. No notable elements of whisky come through.

14/8/2021. Cask at the 24th Festival of Beer and Brewing at the Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket. Pours clear very pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is semi-sweet, green apple, wood, whisky. Medium plus sweetness, with a light tartness. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Sweet woody finish. Enjoyable.
