(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 20 April 2017) Black colour with brief head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, vanilla and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, vanilla, coconut, dark fruit, prunes, a touch of oak wood and a balanced roasty bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, with lots of chocolate and vanilla. Nice one.

Bottle which I think is courtesy of Geraint and Helen cheers you two. Consumed at home Sunday 8th January 2017 Pours black, it’s as flat as a pancake, fruity, tangy and tart. There is a little buzz on the tongue, berries in the mouth, dry finish. I didn’t really get any chocolate, vanilla or coconut, just a tart, fruity assertive and tangy beer, didn’t seem bad in any way but not sure if it was intended to be like this? A6 A3 T6 P6 Ov11 2.9

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - coffee beanand creamy chocolate. A hint of green pepper. Taste - forthright chili and chocolate. Still some coffee lurking. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - good though chilli a bit more than I prefer.
