Description
First brewed in Spring 2010 as the Wheatsheaf Inn based at Wheatsheaf Inn, High Street, Llantrisant, Pontyclun. It was originally owned by Celt Experience. In 2011 it brewed for a short time using the name Korev, before settling on the current name in Spring 2012 when it separated from Celt Experience. It moved to its current address in Spring 2013 where an 11BBL plant was used. Experimental beers are produced under the Hopcraft banner. Brewing ceased in early 2019.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours deep brown with a creamy, light khaki head. The aroma holds dry cocoa, mellow roast, some earth. Light-medium sweet flavour with modest bittersweet baking cocoa, burnt biscuits, a little scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with restrained cocoa, mild earthy bitterness, ripe berries. Fun stuff. Solid.

Keg at CBC Clerko for the tap takeover. Clear nut brown reddy coloured pour with a lasting beige head. Aroma is nice, bug fresh coffee spicy coffee bean, woody roast. Fresh coffee. Flavour is composed of woody coffee bean, veg pepper, hint of choc powder. Faint vanilla. Palate is medium full bodied, moderate carbonation si drying finish. Really nice coffee character.

Keg at CBC Clerks - London. Pours clear gold with a dense, creamy topping. The nose has citric hops, grainy pale malts, lemon rind. Light-medium sweet with nice pithy grapefruit, grassy and rindy bitterness, some floral perfume, melon, pale bread. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with noes of pale grains, citrus peel, more lemon and grapefruit. Not bad.

Keg at CBC Clerks - London. Pours clear ruby-brown with a tight, creamy tan head. A bit of coffee in the snout, Dunkin Donuts joe, mild roast, dry cocoa. Light sweet flavour with well toasted brown bread, earthy hops, bitter coffee. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, some mocha, espresso, moderate roast. Nice one.

Keg at CBC Clerko for the tap takeover. A dark black coloured pour with reddy hues and a small tan head. Aroma is earthy roast, liquorice, black malts oysters, little smoke ashy roast. Flavour is composed of dry roast, ashy roast little vanilla sweet, moderate earthy roast, burdock . Lingering liquorice. Palate is dry and crisp, highish carbonation. Lingering woody earthy roast.

Keg at CBC Clerko for the tap takeover. A translucent golden orange coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Aroma is is apricot jam, vanilla, orange rind, dusty grains . Flavour is composed of light grains, citrus apricot jammy fruits, dusty light grains.. Lingering grassy citrus. Palate is highish carbonation, drying finish. Little grainy. Good.

Keg at CBC Clerko - London. Pours clear orange-gold with a tight, creamy topping. Damp grains in the nose, some aged citrus peel, orange rind. Light sweet flavour with notes of grainy pale bread, more old citrus rind, some dough, mellow bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with further citrus notes, pale grains, light grassy bitterness. Slow starter, decent finisher.

Keg at CBC Clerko for the tap takeover. A translucent golden orange coloured pour with a lasting creamy off white head. Aroma is semi sweet toffee and caramel, little stale, soapy dishwater citrus hop, citrus cif .. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty malts, toffee, brown sugars, dirty soapy citrus, pine, urinal cake. Palate is semi sweet woody, grainy, highish carbonation, fizzy finish. Not a fan.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear reddish brown with a slim, foamy crown. The nose has light coffee, well toasted grains, chocolate biscuits. Light sweet flavour with mild earthy bitterness, a little dry milk chocolate, low roast, burnt grains. Light in body with fine carbonation. Finishes with hints of burnt pine, more cocoa, chocolatey biscuits, mellow earth, bitter coffee. Not bad.

Cask at the CBC Clerks - London. Pours clear gold with minimal head. The nose has some dried lemon, pale bread, faint caramel maybe. Light sweet flavour with crunchy grains, grassy bitterness, orange peel. Light bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Finishes with more grassy hops, slight resinous pine, citrus peel, dried grains. So so overall.
