Description
The Rothaus Brewery was founded 1791 through the Benedictine monastery St. Blasien in the “Zum Rothen Haus” inn (“To the Red House” in English). Following the secularizations of 1806, the Rothaus Brewery fell out of the hands of the monks and became property of the Grand Duchy of Baden and was renamed the “Großherzogliche Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus” (Grand Ducal State Brewery Rothaus of Baden). The November Revolution of 1918, which led to the abolition of the monarchy in Baden, caused the company to shorten their name to Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus (State-owned brewery of Baden), as from then on the brewery was owned by the federal state of Baden.
Since 1922, the company has had the legal form of a stock corporation, the shares of which are currently held entirely by the associated company of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The continuously large demand for Rothaus beer has in the past made large investments necessary. This allowed the Rothaus Brewery to grow into one of the most modern facilities in Germany.

Klart guldgul med fast skum. Doft av gröna äpplen, lim och spannmål. Lätt maltig smak med torra toner av spannmål. Helt ok.

Light, sweet, and malty, wheat and isoamyl acetate. A decent taste but quite watery, not bad.

Bottle. Lurid gold with a collapsing white head. Aroma of doughy biscuit with some light spice and floral notes. Fairly sweet and clean but lacks body and richness. Brief grassy bitterness. A little better as it warms a little.

Okay, yes. Definitely a fan of this brewery. Simply a very enjoyable beer, no harshness from cheap ingredients or flavor indifference, unlike many similar beers. A great Kellerbier.

Pours clear golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma of bread, yeast. Taste has heavy grass resin, floral notes. Palate has heavy yeast elements, bready, more of the grassy and floral notes, somewhat oily. Quite good.

Cloudy yellow, beautiful fluffy dense white head. Smells yeasty, clove, banana. Easy body, firm but soft. Taste is banana, bit candy, with subtle clove aftertaste. Not as bright as some others, but very nicely balanced, and real flavourful. Solid stuff.
