Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

Bottle. Poured a light orange with a red tint and a medium beige head. Aroma was full of wheat and sweet grains with an undertone of tart cherries. Flavor began with sweet cherry and wheat notes, finish was more tart from the cherries.

Hazy amber pour, with a fizzy head that disappears rather rapidly - mildly oaky nose, with a lot of toffee and treacle sweetness, mild fig, a touch of obviously intentional oxidized character, slightly buttery notes - flavor of semi-dry, biscuity malts up front, followed by light cask-ish notes, moderate toffee, a touch of plum, light chocolate - finish is lightly bitter, with mild buttery notes - quite authentically british - fairly tasty.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy yellow body and a fading white head. Aroma has a bit of must, horse-blanket, dryness, spices, pear and apple. Taste is light brett, dry apple, dried fruits and wine. Light bubbles and a creamy mouthfeel. Low residual sweetness. With the brett in the bottle I sampled, it seems more like a strong Orval clone than a triple to me.

A gift from a friend visiting from Oregon. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright golden color with a large yellow-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was strong sweet grapefruit and pine. The flavor was strong grapefruit and pine with moderate bitterness and a somewhat sweet caramel undertone and a touch of lemon zest. The finish was medium length fruity and piney hops. Fairly full boded. Well done.

Cask at GBBF. Golden with a small white head. Weak citrus aroma with grapefruit peel, some caramel in the background. Sweetish citrus flavour that somehow gave me a homebrew feel.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Triangle Plaza, Raleigh, NC. Pours a very hazy peach color with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Fruity, floral hop aroma with a bit of a bitter bite to it at the end. A good bit of toffee also. Taste is toffee malts with citrus hops. There is a bitterness that grows slowly and lingers. Medium bodied. Nice, well balanced IPA.

Draught at the Bridgeport Brewery. Amber-orange color with lace. Very earthy hop aroma with cut grass, cow shit and marijuana. Flavors of grassy hops, pine, dark fruit, caramel, with a long, earthy, hop and grass finish. Very complex hops and enough malt to make it work well. Wacky but interesting aromas, and a rich, full mouth. The best of the day.
