Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

Shipped to me by my wife from a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a large yellow-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was tart pineapple, grapefruit, lemon and yeast. The flavor was sour and nutty malts with bitter sweet pine and grapefruit. The finish was long with pineapple and grapefruit lingering. Fairly full bodied. Good.

12 oz bottle into snifter. Thanks, Brenn79! Aromas of piney hops, grapefruit, floral notes. Pours semi-hazy bronze with a huge head that retains itself admirably. Great lacework. Taste is sweet then bitter. The bitterness lingers on the tongue for awhile. Carbonation is medium. Slightly oily. Very nice.

Nice caramel and golden coloured body with a thinnish tan head and a nice glow. Aroma of potent cascade hops, with a bunch of alcohol and a plentiful amount of sugars. Medium-bodied; Assertive potent hops with a medicinal, earthy and almost syrupy flavour showing a good malt backbone, some alcohol and a pleasant finish. Aftertaste has a lot of hop bitterness, some mild sugars and not much else - perhaps a good overlay of malt. Overall, a good imperial ipa, on the lighter side for the style, and one that I prefer, since I like normal IPAs much more than Imperials. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Colorado Liquor Mart in Denver, Colorado on 14-February-2010, sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 10-April-2010.

Bottled
Hazy yellow color, small white head. Bready, slightly citrusy and grainy nose. Bready, pale malty flavor, a bit harsh finish. Palate is watery. There is some good points in this beer, but overall too light.
