Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

Aroma of floral hop (I think) backed with some citrus. The aroma seems a bit dusty. Lightly orange tinged gold color with a subtantial head that attempts some lacing. Starts lightly sweet and floral, followed by a light maltiness, which continues into the finish. There is a floral or herb component in the finish, as well as a malt note, and barely enough bitter. After four lagers, this was a pleasure. Perhaps otherwise, if it had followed four IPAs.

Bottle. Poured amber with a thick lasting head. Faint malty aroma. Mild flavour that’s well balanced between malt and hops. A modest finish. This is a workaday unassuming bitter that is good on a warm day.

Pours bright amber into a shaker. White head quickly recedes to roil the surface. Sweet caramel and pine aromas. Well balanced and smooth with an active, sharp carbonated grapefruit finish.

Light hoppy aroma, backed by some malt. Light gold color with a head that tries to lace. Starts with carbonation bite, followed by some light malt, balanced by some light hop. Medium mouthfeel. A light APA, but the bitter finish is appropriate for the type.

Not bad. This is very sweet for an ESB, sweet malt rather than bitter malt. Considerable hop presence for the style. Its not bad, but too sweet.
