Salué dès ses débuts par le regretté Michaël Jackson (auteur d’ouvrages de référence sur le whisky et la bière), Grégory Verhelst poursuit depuis 2000 sa quête du goût, sa vision de LA bière. En pionnier et à contre-courant. La brasserie de Rulles produit actuellement environ 4.000 hectolitres par an, avec un processus de fermentation en cuves ouvertes, montrant le spectacle de la levure et lui permettant d’exprimer toute sa magie..

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Oct 17. Courtesy of myself. Pours a misty gold, small foamy brilliant-white head. Lovely fresh saison-like aroma. Taste is balanced, strong, smooth with a nice soft yeasty character, some bubblegum-like sweetness emerging. Excellent strong Saison-like belgian strong ale.

Bottle. Mig's Wines, Brussels. Pale amber. Soft haze. Thin, dense, lacing, lasting, white head. A bit slow moving and leggy. Looks the business. Nose has barley sugars. Toffee apple. Baked apple. Pear drops and banana. Bit of ginger spice. Taste is sweet and chewy. Lots of herby bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinks easy at the ABV. Herbal bitter finish.

Amber hazy body. Off-white creamy head. Aromatic flavour of flowers, oranges and bit caramel. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavour. Well balanced.

Clear golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, hops, yeast. Sweet malty flavour. Malty finish. Definitely decent, not your average mass produced pilsener.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 04.09.17. Hazy pale straw colour. White head and lacing. Relatively moderate aroma, with fresh hops, meadows and grass. Fine and refreshing taste, with hops, grass and some citrus. Similarly fine aftertaste.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy light amber with little off-white head. Aroma of bread, some bananas, pepper, some citrus. Tastes a bit sweet with some bitterness. Thin to medium bodied, slightly bitter finish.

Clear blonde beer, creamy white head, very stable, adhesive. Aroma: very malty, lots of grains, rural, bit funky, herbal, grassy touch. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: grains, bit sweet, malty, cow fodder, hint of banana, grains, little sourish. Aftertaste: hoppy touch, bit metallic, grains, some banana, bit yeasty, hoppy finish.
