Bottle from Systembolaget Viksjö. Clear dark amber with a medium firm head. Aroma of caramel, light hops, malt and some citrus. Similar taste. Medium bitter and with a medium body. An ok one.

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 2015, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Boulder Beer House Porter ].Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, spicy, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, spicy, roasted, mint. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150811]

Draft. A- Alcohol, subtle cocoa, roasty. A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Rubbing Alcohol, dry, subtle cocoa, malty. P- Medium body, sharp texture, average carbonation, burning finish. O- I must have had a bad tap line on this draft or something. Tasted like not much other than alcohol and a bit of burn. I got nothing that most of these other reviews show. I’ve never cared for many of the Boulder/OC collabs so I doubt under the right conditions this would be much better.

Draught at Oddfellows, 11/3/15.
So I saw chocolate shake porter on the menu and probably somewhere in the back of my head, a little voice was crying, "Don’t do it, it’s Boulder!" but I didn’t catch on to this, and the brewer wasn’t listed (seems to be a very common practice at bars in seattle, WTF), so I asked the waitress who made it and she hesitated and said, "Backwoods, I think?". Well, it’s not Backwoods. No, it’s not any of the brewers in Seattle. To get something this vile, you have to travel down to Colorado and find yourself at Boulder Beer Company. Long story short, this sorry excuse for a beer tasted exactly like tootsie pops, sweetness and all, with exactly zero beer character. Needless to say, most of my pint was left behind in disgust. I hate you, Boulder (but it’s kind of fitting that the worst beer I had on the trip, by a longshot, wasn’t even from WA).
