Another bottle from the Local Taphouse's Coronatime cellar pruning. Deep amber, holds a fat coat of cream head a while. Boozy aroma with Sherry, figs, dried peach, burnt toffee. Full, really luscious & creamy body with substantial carbonation. Sweet (figs, sultanas, dried peach, some Sherry) but still bitter and a bit roasty too. Some overt alcohol but nothing inappropriate. Some nut oil creeps in too. Not sure of the date format here - does 201018 mean October this year or is it 18 months past best before? Anyway this is really good now and I'd guess has a good 3 years before it goes anywhere.

Bottle. Clear deep brown with less than a coat of cream head. Aroma of toffee, breadcrust, almonds, whisky. More vanilla than oak as such. Just short of syrupy, assisted by some carbonation. Rich but not all that heavy with oloroso, breadcrust, raisins and almonds gathered up by (a little) alcohol, oak and distinct bitterness. Perhaps not all that deep but lovely balance.

(On tap) Deep Brown with big cream coloured head. Pleasant aroma with hints of chocolate. Creamy smooth with fine bright carbonation. Taste is good - rich, some malty sweetness and chocolate notes. Very nice.
