Bottle. Darkish amber with a beige head. Aroma of toffee, pine needles, mango skin. Lightish bodied with a pleasantly creamy texture. Boiled sweet fruitiness with herbal and pine notes. Moderate but somewhat nagging bitterness. Not really my sort of thing.

Bottle at Googies Folkestone. Hazy amber colour lasting cream head over carbonated some red fruit and resin on aroma . It’s a decent ipa. Some fresh red fruits and some dankness. It’s fine. Get rid of the carbonation. Yes decent. Got better as the glass went down. Fresh .

The alcohol is quite prominent in the aroma for a relatively low alcohol beer, but there’s plenty else besides, including mocha, pine needles, apricot and musk. Roasted malt and a little coffee combine with the pine and grapefruit in the mouth. It’s got a nice length and a pleasant, lingering bitterness. A well-crafted black IPA.
