Description
We are a small and independent brewery which has been making great beer for over fifteen years, winning both SIBA and CAMRA awards for our beers.

We brew in small batches by hand with the utmost regard not only for flavour but also for quality and consistency, using the finest British barley and a mix of both Kentish and World hops.

A bit of history: Established in 1995 as Swale brewery in Milton Regis, Sittingbourne, moved to Grafty Green, Maidstone in 2001. Sold to the ancient Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company in 2003.

Cask at the Happy Man, Englefield Green - 17/08/12. Clear golden with a minimal white head. Hops, citrus and grass on the nose. Sweet malt, grass, earhty hop tones in the taste, quite farmy. Lightish body, fairly wet, but worked well for this beer resulting in a refreshing crisp finish.

Cask@GBBF2012. Rubyish amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, floral and also has some mild grassy and wooden notes. Flavour is rather similar with some mild syrupy notes. Wellbalanced.

Cask at the Claret. It pours pale golden yellow, with a thin foamy white head. The nose is cheddar cheese, hints of sulphur and some grass. The taste is lemony soap, zesty, grass, touch of pepper and leaf, with a very dry finish. Thinnish body and soft carbonation. Very so-so.

Bottle: Pale golden, hazy, small white foamy layer, perfumed grainy nose with very well hidden hoppy traces; tart bitter flavour, light bodied and harsh; short bitter-fruity finish. Oh no, they should better keep on brewing Oyster Stout…

Cask: golden to deep golden, small white head with a good lacework; herbal to peppery hoppy nose, also a bit leafy with traces of vegetables and grapefuits; dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; lingering dry grapefruity and hoppy finish. A bit thin , but all in all quite good…
