Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 08. Gold, bubbly beige head. Some decent citrusy fruits on aroma. It’s got some nuts in the mouth. Pretty decent bitter, moderate fruit, has an almost minty flavour. Must have liked it from the score.

330ml bottle from Waitrose, Hythe. Cloudy amber with a pink tint, and a thick white head; raspberry aroma; slightly sour raspberry flavour; dry finish. Boring.

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, Islington, London N1, UK. Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, grapefruit / lemon, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Yellow with a small white head. Citrus and pineapple in a perfumed aroma. Dry hoppy flavour, somewhat thin.

330ml bottle from Waitrose, Hythe. Black with a milk chocolate head; intense aroma of bitter chocolate and coffee; thick and oily and intesely bitter chocolate flavour; dry finish with some underlying sweetness. Very drinkable.

Cask gravity at Kent BF, Canterbury. Gold with lasting off white head. Some citrus on aroma, good condition, reasonable hop on end. After drinking Dark Star Hophead though, this was a tad bland.

Cask, Jan Primus. Clear amber color, short lasting head. Aroma of caramel malt, english hops. Caramel malty taste, quite bitter. Decent beer.

Bottle. Aroma of chocolatey roasted malts, along with underlying coffee. Opaque brown/black color with a tan head that laces a little. Didn’t last long though. Starts with smooth roasted dark malt, not at all harsh, but definitely roasted. Mouthfeel tends to thin. A little sour component lurks, but this is very nice stuff. The finish is dry and coffeeish, but not bitter.

Cask at The Wenlock Arms. Lightly hoppy aroma. Light amber color with white head. Starts with fruit and floral hop. Malt is not that noticeable. A wonderful semi-dry hop finish.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Brownish amber. Aroma of gooseberries and resiny hops. Fairly sweet and really fruity but with lovely soft, chewy malt character. Spun sugar is there, as is a wealth of hops. Above medium body. Long bittersweet finish. Really good.
