Intense passionfruit. Clearish gold with a rich beige head. Earthy and yeast forward with a very odd finish. Surprisingly not good.

Sweet malts ands raw coffee. Cloudy copper with almost no head. Bitter coffee and a long finish.

Pours with perfect foam and a deep brown body, the aroma is soft smooth malt and yeasty wood barrels but nothing too intense. Flavour is a muddy mix of malt and yeast, slightly acidic. Mouthfeel is mostly full but also seems a little thin. Still very nice, a very approachable foeder beer that's not too acidic.

Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Candied peach. Peach candy and light tart notes with a salty finish.

Pours with very nice foam and a clear clean copper body, smells sweetly of lager hops with vague malt hints, not so much pale ale as dark lager really. Flavour is chewy malts with some notes of tin and sweet lager hops. Full mouthfeel. Feels kind of macro honestly, clean and drinkable but missing something exciting and honestly not so much a good pale ale as a clean dark lager. So, well.... meh.

Dry-hopped pale ale refermented with Brettanomyces brewed by this Walloon brewer who emigrated to Canada. Bomber shared by Marie, cheers! Off-white, thick and mousy, largely stable head, hazy deep amberish-orangey peach blonde with 'dirty' ochre-ish yeast hue especially after adding the sediment; some protein flakes as well. Aroma of strong Brett indeed, horseblanket all over the place, stale urine, damp hay, wet leather, bitter plant seeds, old orange peel and dried out lemon rind, melon, old rusk, sourdough, medlar. Fruity onset, very estery with notes of peach, medlar and sour grapes without ever turning actually sour; fizzy carb initially, dryish old rusk- and bread crust-like, somewhat nutty malt profile, light sourish and very yeasty finish with a very firm, rooty and leafy hop bitterness underneath, all drenched in a whole lot of lovely 'dirty' Brett effects, hayish and very funky; the initial light and fruity sourishness lingers among ongoing, very dry bitterness and bready yeastiness with spicy phenolic effects dancing on top. Reading on the bottle how this beer was made and being aware that the brewer has Belgian roots, I was expecting something Orval-like, and that is exactly what I got: this belongs to the circle of amber coloured, medium strength, dry-hopped, Belgian-fermented and Bretted beers that essentially - and often knowingly - pay hommage to the legendary trappist ale, so it is difficult not to make a comparison. This beers in any case has a lot more Bretty funkiness and deliciousness than Orval has nowadays and the fact that this bottle had been aged for quite a while, has only accentuated the dry and funky Brett character more; one for the Brett- and wild ale lovers with a very strong Belgian colour to it, I enjoyed this one a lot, like the other two beers I had from Townsite (also both generously donated by Marie). I am falling in love with this brewery.

500 ml bottle. Pours brown with light head. Aromas of sugar, vinegar, some wood and wet bready malts. Flavors follwo same with more red wine vinegar. Not quite there...

Hazy amber colour. Light aroma, some sour malt. Good body strength, good malt base, moderate acidity, and some berry flavour, so that it tastes a bit like a fruit tart; a bit earthy too, but overall quite well constructed.
