Cloudy pale yellow. Light peach, marshmallow and coriander aroma. Malty, lightly spicy (coriander, mint) flavour. Marshmallowy, and pretty well-made.
Old rating (2003): Pale light saffron. Hazy. Creamy, light honey character with biscuits, sunflowers, and limited citrus. Sweet and sour towards the finish, with some citric crispiness. 6 3 7 3 13 = 3.2

Bright yellow. Some aroma of hops. Had the flavor of a mid-quality american standard with a barely detectable wheat taste at the end. I was very disappointed in this beer, and can't figure out why the the score is so high, it stands down there right next to leinie's honey weiss in the category of American wheats you shouldn't drink.

A cloudy wheat that is flavorful, but not unique or noteworthy in any regard. Earthy flavor with a slight hint of banana-flavored esters. A nice summer brew, but there are better beers to be had and consumed.

Thanks to Indra for the trade. 2002 Bottle: Pours a rubicund color appropriate for the season, with a medium thick beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is malty and spicy. Medium-bodied with flavors of malt, cinnamon, licorice and some hops. Finish is nicely spiced with a caramel aftertaste. Well done.

Thanks to hey_kevin for this one. This was a decent Amber Lager with a dark amber color and thin off-white head. No real lacing to speak of. Rich caramel malt aroma. Rather strong malt flavor with a nice finish. Not bad at all.

Draught. A fairly nice dry stout, comparable to Beamish. Very dark opaque near-black, served with thin white head, but with good retention. Aroma was lightly roasty with only a hint of chocolate and nuts. Flavor was again mildly roasty, possibly a bitter chocolate finish. Light creamy mouthfeel from the nitro. Update for bottle tasting: I want to lower the numbers significantly (to 2.9) but I'm holding off. This bottled sample may have been off. It featured a pretty significant tang in the finish, which could have been an attempt to replicate the Guinness tang, or it just might have been accidental contamination. My notes: Thin fading head over a near opaque garnet, tinged brown. Caramelly chocolate aroma, hint of roast. Full caramel and ashy flavor, dry roasted finish. Tangy finish, lingering tang on the sides of the tongue.

Exceptional bottle-conditioned ale. Most so-called Irish Ales are usually middle of the road red ales, but this is very nice. The color is a nice red-amber, with a firm head and excellent lacing. Aroma is caramel, with some herbal hops and a tinge of smokiness. The flavor is perfectly balanced: caramel malt and Englishy hops, plus a slight smokiness. Creamy mouthfeel. Very very drinkable and characterful.

This may be my last re-rate of this beer. As I’ve noted in my prior reviews, this beer seems to have morphed from an obvious vienna-esque marzeny style to an American Dark (don’t agree with the premium lager classification here - but then again we once classed it as a helles?!). Anyway, the 2006 bottles are out and I just got through 3 of the most enjoyable Bob’s I’ve had yet to date. Even if it isn’t really very vienna-ish anymore, this is nevertheless a great amber lager. Big rounded smooth mouthfeel, complemented by caramel-toffee malt tones, and a pleasant swirling of grassy hop flavors. It all leads to an easy balanced finish. Well done, and one of the rare beers out there right now that I can drink in session form and not get bored.
