Description
We started out in 1996 as a small group of San Diego home brewers who simply wanted to make a better beer. In our exploration, we became obsessed with ingredients—tinkering, testing and tasting to find the perfect balance of taste and aroma. That adventurous spirit leads to award-winning beers in classic and unique styles while challenging our own tastes and expanding yours. We’re proud of our San Diego hometown, our employees, our beers, and our fans. We think of our employees as family, and you, our fans, as extended family. You’ll see us use #BPPROUD as a badge of pride and a way to further connect with our beer loving community.

Big nose of american hops, hence the huge aroma of lemon, and grapefruit, with some pine in there. Flavour is dominated by the hops, not much of a malt base in here, just a hop monster of an IPA.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, lots of vanilla beans, tons of chocolate, mocha, coffee, chocolate milk, dessert, roast, hint of peat, some coal. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with some nice roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is full and thick. You wouldn’t guess this has an ABV of 10%, it’s that smooth and drinkable. Incredible beer, a total chocolate vanilla coffee dessert Porter, approaching Porter perfection for my taste.

Bottle at home. Aroma is oats, dark malt, roast, chocolate, dark fruity notes, liquorice, some coffee, hint of vanilla. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with some roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is medium to full. This is no Victory At Sea, but it’s a delicious Imperial Stout regardless.

6.8
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7

Bottle from Beergium. Aroma is fruity hoppy with strong grapefruit, grapefruit candy, juicy tropical fruits, soft pale malt, with a slight touch of pine resin. Flavour is light to moderate sweet with a pretty potent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Lots and I mean lots of grapefruit juice with a potent bitterness, might be a little too heavy on the grapefruit candy for my a taste to be a true winner IPA. But I enjoyed it.
