1987 bottle shared by Bobby at the Grand Tasting 2012 LA. Pretty deep red, kind of thin but oily. Nice raspberry nose. Not a whole lot of acid or funk, just big clean raspberry. Very sweet, nice raspberry flavor. Too sweet, not very challenging as a lambic, but it has held up wonderfully.

1987 bottle shared by Bobby at the Grand Tasting 2012 LA. Brownish red. Nice lush cherry nose. Not funky. Flavor is pretty decent cherry, though not very interesting as a lambic. Aged well, though, and very smooth.

Bottle @ Kulminator, Antwerp as Eylenbosch Kriek Cuvee Speciale. Vintage 1987. Hazy reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malty, cherries and oxidated. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 240712

1987 Vintage @ Kulminator // 37.5 cl; covered by cooked on dust but not so much as you would expect with part of the label gone, split between me & HeardAboutIPA // clear copper hued amber with no head // smell is a warning, rusty metallic & lots of old rotting & ancient chemical sweeteners, I quit smelling this after two tries because it is bad & unpleasant // taste is bad, apply described by HeardAboutIPA as being drinkable but that is just about it, even the drinkability of this is a borderline case, burned sugar, oodles of old gone bad sweeteners, completely expired, very nasty cough syrup, band aids, copper, rust, bitter metallic, tastes expired, vile // flat & slightly sticky body // other reviews seem to indicate that this has held up quite well but unless if my pallet is not good enough to pick up the awesomeness of this, my body was simply way beyond past date & which might mean that not all bottles have held up great //either way, I don’t want to check it out

1987 Vintage // 37.5 cl. dusty bottle @ Kulminator // unfortunately this one was a sweet one & not a sour one, not sure really why there are still so many bottles of this one floating around, maybe the production used to be huge? // taste is pretty standard for a seriously aged sweetened sour beer // appearance is blood red ruby, clearly reveals its age, head, is just some mould looking bubbles // smells like sweet mouldy jam, cough syrup, cherries with a dash of raspberries // smell is cherry syrup, jam, cough syrup, quickly blending into mould, decay, sewage water, routing carpets, old aspartame, its holding up quite well but it has definitely decayed quite a bit // body is slightly thinned out by age // not bad after a while all this sweetened sour beers, all kind of get to the same place, its better to get an old bottle of Liefmans Kriek which are pretty fantastic at this point still

Bottle at Kulminator in March 2012. (Vintage 1987) 10 EUR for a bottle, 37,5cl. Clear deep red with no head. Light notes of raspberries in the aroma, more in the taste. Also wood and something sweet. No sourness to talk about. Still fresh and very, very drinkable, almost like juice. It’s not every day that I drink a 25 year old beer, a beer that still taste very good.

Clear bright orange beer, still a pretty big aery off-white head, pretty stable. Aroma: bit dusty, peppery, orange peel, lemony. MF: very soft carbon, medium body. Taste: dry start, bit dusty, orange peel, little peppery, then citric acidity. Aftertaste: sourish, little dry and spicy.
