Murky deep amber color that easily puts up a frothy off-white head that falls to a persistent foam scum. Makes a quickly falling lace on the glass. Fruity with thin malt aroma. The flavor is a mix of sweetness and a touch of sour bitterness. Somewhat strange, and hard to describe.

Dark brown color with red sparkles; medium, creamy head. Suspicious aroma of wet cardboard and wet cereals. Medium-weak body, common caramel flavor, low bitterness. It can easily be a poor Dunkel or Vienna.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a golden amber color with a large head. Good head retention and fair lacing. Aroma of sweet malts and muted hops. Taste is leafy hops and sweet sugary malts. Not much going on here. Medium bodied.

Pours a clear gold with a tall, long lasting white head. Malty aroma that is "off" in some way, but I can’t put a finger on it. Decent, but doesn’t have the full on maltiness of a good Doppelbock.

Pours hazy gold into a tumbler. Bright white head recedes to hug rim. Stale raspberry aromas. Crisp and raspberry upfront turning to a nasty, stale raspberry bubblegum.

Pours with a small, foamy, white head that fades over a hazy, penny colored body. Aroma of light citrus hops,tangy orange, caramel, soggy malts and pine nuts. Taste is a bit bitter, without any good flavor hops. Caramel and watery. Not complex or interesting. Just a brewer going through the motions. Dry and fizzy.

Pours with a hazy yellow body and a small white head. Nose of fake raspberry, wheat, hay and some blueberry syrup. Taste is wheat and a watery, weak, with a bit of raspberry jam. Slightly astringent wheat quality. Fizzy and dry mouthfeel.

Listed as Abita Mardi Gras. Pours with a small, off-white head and a clear bronze body. Aroma is weak with honey, light spice and bread. Taste is malt, honey, watery with some notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. A bit watery.

Aroma is bready and toasty malts with some syrupy fruit notes. Taste is very grainy toasted malts with a touch of caramel and stone fruits. Medium bodied. Bitter hop finish.
