From a 330ml bottle (2013 vintage, abv 11.3%) on 14/8/2017. Pours a deep amber with no head. Has a lovely nose featuring caramel, butterscotch, toffee, fruit cake. The flavour is complex and intense, featuring all of the aforementioned, along with masses of raw sugar and golden syrup, with some nuttiness in the mix. The texture is syrupy and my bottle seemed under-carbed. I’m a little torn with this one, as it’s flawed, yet quite magnificent in some respects. Defintely worth a try if you into bold dessert beers.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with ruby glimmer and average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of toffee, dark caramel, dark chococlate, a touch of malt lozenge, some roast. Taste is slightly bitter, roasty dark malty, chocolately, some coffee, dark chocolate, a touch of burnt caramel. Rich and intense, especially for relatively light 4.9% abv; the light body is nevertheless perceivable, since all flavours seem to float like an aerostat, no "road contact" somehow.
