From a 500ml bottle on 23/3/2012. Pours a hazy orange with a huge head (some gushing out of the bottle). Has a pleasant aroma dominated by passionfruit with some English style yeastiness. In the mouth, it begins sweet, with a solid malt backbone, with lots of citrus fruit (particularly orange), which is followed by a firm, satisfying hop bitterness. Not over the top for an IPA, but very well out together, if a touch over carbonated.

Pours dark amber with a huge head.Nose shows earthy and herbal hops with sweet malt backing. Also some piny hops.Pretty much the same flavours but with little malt to support the hops.Too much carbonation.

Half liter brown bottle pours murky copper brown with off white head. The aroma is mostly pine hops and then tart with citrus as well as a slight sweet maltiness in the background. The taste is similar and is front and forward with pine hops sliding into notes of tart grapefruit meat and some spicy hops around the edges. Below those notes is a thin river of near sugar sweet maltiness. This doesn’t pop with hops or richness that I’m used to in the style.

01/07/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (375ml bottle). Rossa, limpida, intensa, con buona schiuma biancastra abbastanza persistente. Aroma di malto e lieviti, con lievi e fastidiose note bruciate. In bocca è maltata, caramellata, cioccolatosa, con una lieve ma fastidiosa punta finale di lieviti bruciati. Un po’ corta, poco complessa, grezza e sgraziata. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. In pessime condizioni, è stata davvero una delusione. Mi piacerebbe riprovarla, perché secondo me merita di più.

28/06/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (500ml bottle). Nera, intensa, con riflessi bruni, buona schiuma bianco sporca abbastanza persistente. Aroma intensissimo di malti tostati e luppolo, meravigliosamente ben bilanciati tra loro. In bocca ha un esordio dolciastro, in cui si riconoscono note di malti tostati, cioccolato e caffè, e un ben finale amaro intenso ma assolutamente non invadente. Copro medio, carbonazione corretta. Una delle migliori porter mai assaggiate finora.

Bottle at home from my GBBF 2011 haul ... deep copper ... big light tan head ... sweet fruity malt ... rich soft toffee malt ... little peppery nose ... juicy malts ... sweet toffee malts ... dark mellow vine fruits .... juicy ... again a little peppery hop ... light pine hints ... and lime peel ... just very plesant and drinkable

Bottle. Dark brown/red with beige head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice, coffee, caramel, little sweet, hops and a little bitter.

Clear dark reddish brown with a huge light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. 090212

Bottle from Ølbutikken. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are coffee, chocolate, licorice, roast malt and hops. Nice dry and smooth.

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, hops and a little floral. Flavour is malt, little sweet, hops, fruit, little grapefruit and medium bitter.
