Description
Since 1955, Le Brun Bigoud cider house is renowned for its premium craft ciders. Based in Cornouaille (the first AOP cider area), we create artisan and farm ciders following the traditional way passed down from one generation to the next.

Our traditional corked ciders are all 100% pur juice, naturally sparkling and unpasteurized to preserve the fruity flavors.

Our apple expertise led us to develop apple juices. Still or sparkling our recipes are also 100% pur juice but to preserve the product longer those are pasteurised.

In 2021, Mr Le Brun set a new challenge for the company, developping a range of craft beers (Cornemuse and La Môme de Paris) that would match our passion for great beverages.

375ml bottle from Tipsy Fox. Pours a sparkling golden colour with large fizzy white foam head that quickly dissipates away. Nose of juicy apple, fruity, pineapple, caramel. Taste is tart, juicy, mellow apple, fruity, some apple skin and chalky drying tannins. Light bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

On tap at Wassail on the LES. Fat champagne goblet glass thingie. Yeah, more champagne then anything, yes. On the darker side of pale gold. Clear, suddy, inviting. Tight, tart, bubblegum/yeasty smell thing going on. Slight straw farmyard funk. Taste is all yeast upfont, melting into bitter greens melon & pinching, bitter, tannic apple skins. Minor farm funk at the end. English sort of dry. This is sort if a hybrid English/French breed. Not close to my favorite, but pretty good.

75 cl bottle @ home. Bottle #266430, LOT N1M/16. A loud POP when opening and foams in glass like crazy. Aroma has rather aggressive apple tones, acidic notes and apple peel. Flavour has acidic tones, floury apples, some apple juice and apple peel. Leathery and a bit floury finish. Good, but feels slightly unclean and drinkability is not that great.

75cl bottle. Dry fruity nose. The cider starts quite sweetish with astringent parts. Ripe apples, quite sticky with tannins there, round, full-bodied but somehow not deep. Sweetish parts, a bit sticky but round. Interesting and nice.

75cl bottle. Nice fruity sourish nose. The slightly purple cider in the glass starts highly carbonated with a astringent sourness. Lots of sulphur and vinegar-like sourness there. Dry astringent in the aftertaste, sourish with a fruity red-appley touch. Nice overall, but for a Rosé-Cider a bit too much sulphur and vinegar-like sourness.

75cl bottle. Dry fruity sour nose. The cider starts sweetish with lots of tannins. Earthy wood, cardboard with extreme ripe apples in the back. Sessionable, quite watery with an astringent cardboard dry dusty and slightly fruity sweetish aftertaste. Interesting.

Bottle shared with Sethbreaker at CBC Clerks - cheers, Tom! Pours clear gold with a slight, creamy topping. Great about, some dried apples, a little misty funk, apple skins. Light-medium sweet flavour, with a little jammy apple, slight acidity. Light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Clean quenching finish, light apply tartness, soft funk. Very drinkable.
