Description
Lagabière was born in November 2012. Brothers Sébastien and Francis Laganière opened the doors of their brewery in the heart of Old St. Jean, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Initially offering only one of their beers and a few beers, the inventory has grown rapidly, offering only locally brewed products. With a capacity of 20 beers in service, the offer is very diversified. Each recipe is original and brewed with extreme rigor. Today, after more than sixty original recipes created, Lagabière also offers a range of imported beers, quality alcohols and a homemade food menu, incorporating as much beer as possible.

473ml can. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a small, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, orange, apricot, mango, pineapple and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, coconut and pine resin in a dry, bitter finish. Medium to full body with a slightly creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Juicy and abv is well hidden.

Just goes under "Ta Meilleur" nowadays, and seems to be the only version available. The UPC matches the can. A slight haze, golden-yellow colour with a big white head, long lasting and thicker foamy lacing spots. Big oranges in the nose with melon notes and other tropical fruits. Again, orangy with more melons and a tad grassiness. A wet, juicy mouthfeel with a light dryness - but not creamy. Not bad, but missing something blending (more oats?)... to be My Meilleur.

Pretty nice nectarine aroma here, some mango. Pours clear golden with decent head, not very hazy. Finishes with some cloying tangy finish. Can.

Hazed, yellowish colour with a frothy white cap, decent stay and some soapy lacing. A little funk farm in the nose with citrus notes, and a touch of grape must. This last one comes a little more in the taste, freshening things with the citrus-tropical fruitiness. Some funk still comes out in the flavours. Not bad, but was expecting a little better balance with the Sauvignon Blanc grape must and Nelson Sauvin hops - which should of been quite wine-like, and delicious.

Canned 12-09-25, drunk March 2, 2026.
Fruity and hoppy with the fruit feeling fairly authentic; not cheap syrup/extract-like. Also not overdone, leaving enough room for a citrusy hoppiness to insert itself. Sparse malts showing lots of cracker, with clean yeast and no wort.
Has a soft, vanilla-like character with candied fruit and almost a yogurt-like fruit character. Kind of chewy and tart at the same time with light, peppery bitterness. Mild flavors all-around, but a very lackluster body. Not seltzer, but not a huge step up from it. The wheat and oats help, at least.

Found this older can, brewed a little over 2 years before. Pours a hazy golden colour with frothy-bubbly off-white head, decent stay and some foamy lacing streaks. Some lemon zesty aromas with a touch of funky farmhouse. The lemony notes continue in the flavours with some grassiness, the funk, orange juice and some nice dryness in the finish. Still quite drinkable after all these years. Interesting.

A well-laced low white head on a yellow straw body. The nose is fresh and punchy, featuring mango, orange and peach hops with pepper and sweet malt. A super blend of Mosaic and citra tastes here - grapefruit, orange, peach, mango and kiwi. Fresh squeezed and bright tastes. Sweet malt and pepper add to the mix. A leader in the North East style.
