The name alone worries me, but it actually looks like a really nice kriek - dark ruby red and cloudy with a thin pink head. Smells like cherry Lifesavers, though - all sugar and artificial flavouring. Sweet and sour body has reasonable fullness (probably from all those unfermented sugars). Candyish cherry note overwhelm anything else that might be lurking in there. Not for diabetics, or anyone over the age of 12, but I can't hate it because it does do a couple of things right (as mentioned above).

2003 (I presume) bottle. Awesome ruby-amber red color, big off-white, slight yellow head. Good lacing. Maybe the finest bubbles arising from the bottom that I have seen. Smells like a strawberry twizzler, medium sweet, slightly plasticy, some cherry-yeast aroma, light clove and light, rounded hops??? Well anyways, it tastes amazing. Everyone else says Sweet, sweet and more sweet. Hmmm, it’s sweet, but I usually hate extra sweet beers, but I’m likin this, really much so. Spices, but the good kind, cinnamon, allspice. Good yeast flavors, nice finish and aftertaste includes some hops. It’s like an American-belgian!! I love it but I’m ashamed that I love it!!! Damn I’m so domestic!!!! (ps. I cant find the alcohol in this!!) 7/4/9/4/17
Draught at Canary Square, 12/29/18.
Light DMS, perhaps, with light acidity that has an almost acetic quality. Bread and candied fruits through the middle with moderate sweetness and moderate spiciness.
In the mouth it's a bit loose on the carbonation, with that same slight acetic edge, heavy specialty malt leading to too much hard candy-like character. A hint of clove and other peppery/spicy phenol and not too alcoholic or messy. I don't know, it's no trainwreck or anything, but it's far from exciting or even very interesting. Nothing I would ever look forward to drinking again. Overall rating is for this sample.

Draft, at the Map Room, Chicago. Dark body that “glows” with brown highlights around the edges. Slightly minty taste like a root beer, then a little bit of fruitiness. Finally resolves to a winey taste at the end. Complex brew that you don’t realize is overpowering you until it’s too late.

Yellow gold, totally clear; slim ring of white. Alcoholic nose, very pale malt-beer, even grainy. Taste is alcohol again, very dry and very much grain. very dry - and yet sweet. And NO character but the alcohol. Another Huyghe alcohol punch. Don't go out of your way finding it. So-called brewery "Duwac" doesn't brew at all.

Very dark brown, but with a reddish shine; big brownish head. Fruity nose, chlorophyl chewing gum, dark malts but restrained. Sweet taste, but with a (Good Heavens!) curry flavour. Roasted malts in the background. Retronasal again fruity tastes (blueberry?). Full bodied, but palate is rather thinnish. Aftertaste comes back with the curry/coriander flavour. Again, not one of my favourites. The nose promesses more than the beer delivers.

Cloudy brown color, lasting head. Aroma is very nice of roasted malts, bit port-wine notes, chocolat, fruity of grapes. Taste is a bit disappointing after the great nose, bit sharp roasted malts, sweet and dry.

Pours garnet red-brown, with a light, creamy light tan head. Prunes and brown sugar in the aroma. Rich flavor reminds me of a doppelbock: strong prunes and toffee, with caramel and raisins. Alcohol is nicely subdued. Tangy aftertaste is somewhat distracting. I love the doppelbock flavor of this one.

Triple weizen like. Is this going to be a new style or something. Reminded me strong of those Unibroue beers, La Maudite for example. So, it's quite ok. Cloudy yellow color, big white head. Aroma is banana, spicy. Sweet spicy banana hefeweizen taste. Bit sticky palate.

Cloudy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma is spice, herb, vegetable, banana. Bit like a combination of a triple style and a german hefeweizen. Taste is sweet and spicy. Dry palate.

Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of sour tart green apples, lemons and a bit of malt. Medium-bodied; Super sweet appley taste with some citrus twang. Aftertaste very sweet and clean-very nice to try! Overall, good if you want to have a sweet/sour fruit beer-very different! I had this pint on draught at R.F.D. in Washington on 28-November-2003.
