32oz @ Matt's new place. Appearance: clear straw with a white head. Aroma: berries, spruce tips, crispy. Taste: along the same lines, a bit harsh. Finished with light bitterness. Overall: ok.

Pours darkish gold, with a thin head. There's definitely a little bit of spruce on the aroma, malts a bit crackery. On the palate, similar. The base beer has a bit of crackeriness to it, then the spruce sort of helps it along by providing accent, as it is somewhat low on hop expression, and just a little bit of bitterness. It's not the greatest beer, but it's better for having the spruce in there.

1L crowler, pours a clear dull blonde with a small white head. Aroma smells like earthy BO and woody spruce. Flavour is quite sprucey, with lots of earthiness and dry bready malt. Herbal BO and spruce on the finish. Not sure why this is rated so high (used to be better?). Meh.

Draft at Skagway Brewing. Nose is toffeeish caramel, clove hints, and a flowery note. Hazy dark brown with a medium tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly contrasting bitterness, and a toffee bite.

Draft at the brewpub. Nose is sprucey not so much piney with a light caramel background and just a hint of bitterness. Hazy orange yellow with a medium white head. Flavor is spruce, light sweetness, and a hint of bitter.

Draft: Poured an orange brown with huge off white to tan head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is rich malts nice alcohol tingle.

Draft: Poured a brown with a tan head. Aroma is light vanilla chocolate. Taste is dark bakers chocolate and hint vanilla.
