Pours amber from the bottle with a thick, fluffy white head. Aroma has a hint of citrus, light nail varnish, but there’s overall not a lot going on. Taste is mildly bitter, warming, with bubblegum sweet notes. Finishes bittersweet, dry, warming with alcoholic undertones. Body is medium with mild carbonation. Uneventful, but also a bit uneven. Feels like an alpha version of something better.

Rerate, bottle from Geers. Clear golden with a thick, foamy, white head. Aroma of oxidized apple, apricot, pear, alcohol (almost in a 'hot' way), clove, soap, yeast, wet grass. Taste has sweetish apple & pear, yeasty body & pale maltiness, bitter spicy middle with a metallic edge even. Bit soapy feel along clove & pepper. Peppery hoppy finish, more spices, yeast & rather boozy jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Still very run-of-the-mill even among the huge amount of Tripels. Would recommend the dark version. This Flemish lion is rather easy to tame, if you catch my drift... Original rating: 18/03/2016. 4/3/4/2/9=2.2.
