Brighton draught, 4/5/22. Burnished copper-to-bright-rust with a firm, white head. Clear. Floral hops are soft and fragrant. Soft cereal maltiness with honey and caramel. Clean and lightly fruity with no alcohol noted. A bit bland and papery in the mouth. Very, very dry and could use more malt depth; just a touch too thin. Softly floral hops and honey-laden cream of wheat finish is clean though a bit carbonic/blandly abrupt.

Brighton draught, 4/5/22. Clear, beautiful, ruby-garnet with deep orange highlights and a large, dense, butter-tinted, white head that shows strong retention. Smokey and with some light pretzel dough-like malt behind it. Spring water, mineral and soft, herbal hops with no alcohol, flaw or overdone specialty malt character. Sourdough, woody smoke and mineral with a fairly malty texture and great attenuation. Peppery and woody smoke doesn't dominate, allowing mineral and hop character to persist on the finish. Hint of caramel, pretzel and honey on the end. A bit less malt depth than I'd hoped for but otherwise great.

Interesting. Rum barreled aged mild is all sorts of oxymoron. Dark pour. Nose is rum and coke. Tastes the same, earth, raisins, chocolate, fig. Smooth and light. Some rum sugar sweetness.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to nothing. Dark caramel and licorice aromas. Medium bodied with toasted raisin bread, fig and prune front to back. Lasting earthy, smoked molasses finish. NIce.

Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to sicken surface. Cracker and hay aromas. Crisp with meadow and hay upfront turning to earthy, bitter pith in the lasting finish.

Canned 3/2/22, drunk 3/31/22. Clear, drab brass-to-blonde with a small, off-white head fading steadily to a ring. Soft, honey-dense nose quickly adds delicate smokiness. Really appreciate the difference in smoke level and character between different smoked lagers. This one is definitely on the lighter side, with light mineral, wood kindling and hints of floral and herbal hops. No alcohol or flaw noted. In the mouth it's malty up front, lending a big, round honey note that is wrapped in dry, soft smoke (clean chimney fire remnants). It does both dry and thin out heavily, leading to a rather watery finish that doesn't quite hold the smoke and rich malt flavor well enough, in my opinion. It's a tough quibble, because this is a very low gravity beer, yet Notch sets the bar so high. I just wish this had the body or even near the body of the Salem Lager I just had from them. Other than issues with the body/texture, it's pretty perfectly done.

Thought I had prior so passed by several times but alas she is now mine. Cloudy chestnut brew and fine sized foamy head. Nose is caramel and pumpernickel. Tastes similar with some dried leaf litter, and raisins. Medium bodied.
