Bottle from Bier Tempel, Brussels. Hazy golden/orange with a white head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit and caramel. Similar taste. The body was around medium and the finish was quite bitter. A decent one.

29/X/16 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ home, BB: 18/IV/17 (2016-1245) Thanks to Cies for the bottle (I think)!

Pretty cloudy orange beer, huge creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: spicy touch, coriander, citrus, very yeasty, bit fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: chemical bitterness, glue, band-aid, unpleasant bitterness, too harsh. Aftertaste: spicy, pretty chemical, very bitter, lots and lots of coriander.

Bottle @ home. Opaque very dark brown to black color, huge fizzy brownish head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, dark and roasted malts, malt bitter. Flavor is terribly hampered by the fizzy carbonation which is really annoying.

Bottle shared, gusher. Very hazy orange brown with a medium cream head. Aroma of herbs, malt, overripe dark fruit and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. [13-07-2016]

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pure yeast with a lot of bread and unfinished sugars noticeable here along with some light hops and a bit of wort. Medium to Full-bodied; Sweet flavour up front with some caster sugar, light hops, earth and pungent grassy flavours showing some bitterness and herbal elements as well. Aftertaste shows some lighter grain elements, some floral notes and a lot of unfinished sugars that come through along with the bitterness from the alcohol and funk. Overall, a decent at best beer that shows a lot of pungency, some very strong flavours with some unfinished sugar notes, some herbs and funk and a lot of alcohol pungency as well. I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle puchased not in Belgium (luckily, I didn’t have to cart this tone back across the pond) but at New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 01-July-2016 for US$4,25 sampled at home in Washington on 24-September-2016.

Bottle from Kulminator. Since vintage gaverhopke Always seems like a nice idea ! Pours clear blonde, no head. Smell is wezk, very weak. Close to none, but you do get some oxidation. taste is sharp, a bitter note. mild oxidation. Just very damn wattery ! bit sweet in the back ( madeira ) . Ok, nothing really offensive ( accept for how weak it is, this should be a 1-2 % beer ) .

27/08/2016 - 33cl bottle @ Baron Casier Park Waregem. Clear red brown with huge light tanned rocky head. Nose is dark malts, caramel, bit sweetness. Taste is nice dark matls, bit roast, some fruits, caramel, bit chocolate, some alcohol. Nice.

16/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: V/2017, bottled: V/2015 (2016-857) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for the pick-up!

Clear dark blond beer, big creamy off-white head, very stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty fruity, citrus, some peaches, sweet, bit floral. MF: lively carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty fruity start, yeast, soft bitterness, some ripe banana, almonds, sweet malts. Aftertaste: spicy, coriander? Some marzipan, sweet touch, banana. Well what do you know, will 2015 be the first year that Gaverhopke releases no gushers? Congratz on the cleaning, then! :-)
