It's smooth because it's nitro, obviously it's not rich like casual drinkers think, it has roastes malt flavour, it's rather watery, boring.

Black color; creamy nitrogen head. Light roasted aroma. In the taste, the roasted bitterness shows up more at the end. Average stout, really smooth.

Black color; nice creamy head. The aroma is quite cheap, roasted malt, both metallic and Madeira (?). Very strong taste, good structure, good roasted malt, plus malt, caramel, pretty good hopping. Very enjoyable, forget classic canned Guinness.

A black beer with a beutiful brown creamy head. The aroma is slight - too slight - but with notes of sweetness and roasted malt. The flavor is creamy smooth with a sweet malty start and ending on a slight roasted note, that lingers a little and turns dry. Not a good stout - too thin.

A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is very hoppy and sweet. The flavor is sweet in the beginning turning pretty hoppy but ending on a thin note. The flavor gets boring after three sips. The palate is good for a non-alcohol beer.

You have to compare every other stout to this one, especially when served on Nitro. The body is lighter than you'd think, and being on nitro it's very smooth. The flavor isn't harsh like many other stouts, though it is complex and surprisingly light - and this is a very drinkable beer. It's a classic for a reason (not just for their marketing).

Draft at airport bar. Have had this often enough before, but not since I started rating. This is definitely not an American type lager, its color is noticeably darker than that, and will already mark you as someone who knows the difference between horse-p--- and beer. Good taste is there, pleasing beery aroma and even some hop flavor. Above average.

The color is black with a fine light brown head. The flavor is licorice, slightly smoked, and sweet. The flavor is very sweet and slighty smoked. A good Guinness but too soft for my liking of a stout.

My first Guinness was a horrid bottled beer many years ago. Today’s version with the “widget” delivering something resembling a hand-pulled mouthfeel is a great improvement. The Draught cans still have a somewhat “fizzier” head than a draft pull, but at least the head is creamy and plays well with the roasty beer body. For sure, Guinness has become an American mega-brew, and craft brews surpass it in taste, but it’s still a fine session beer and an alternative to a horse-p*** pilsner. Revision note: Oh yeah, good smoked peat taste in my latest can. Acidic, too. I’ve based my ratings on the pint “pub draught” cans that have been in my beer fridge for over two years now (one left), and it seems to have aged pretty well.

A St. Patty's favorite, Guinness is a respectable stout, if overrated. No beer tops its black, frothy-headed appearance. However, this beer consistently lacks carbonation and complexity. A good choice when faced with Budweiser swill, but pales in comparison to American craft-brewed stouts.

Light gold, medium white head. Tasted more sour than bitter. Disappointing lack of taste. I expected more from Guinness.
