Bottle: Poured a brownish looking beer with a nice bubbly head with standard retention. some notes of creamy and caramely taste. Overall, this is a very decent session irish ale but nothing out of the ordinary or too complex.Aroma is a mix of hops and sweetness. Taste is quite bitter with a dry finish.

Bottled (Finnish version of "Special Export", BB 07/04/05)
Classic opaque Guinness color. Coffee head, foamy - not creamy like nitro/tap version has, lace. Roasted malt aroma, light. Taste is Guinness-like roasted malt with chocolate taste. Bitter but short finish, aftertaste much milder than in normal version. (6/5/8/3/15 3.7)
Dark, foamy vanishing coffee head. Light roasted aroma. Crisp, bitter mouthfeel, thanks for alcohol. Aftertaste has lots of hops. (6/4/6/3/14 3.3)

Bottled. Black with average, beige head. Licorice, and coffee fragrance. Sweet and boldly malty with a lot of chocolate. Soapy with harsh bitter finish.

Bottled. I guess this is no better than I could've expected, but at least it's a step up from, say, an O'Doul's. Pours a soda pop fizziness with no head. But I must admit, it does look a bit like an ale, and there's a slight ale smell, so points there. Taste is still weak and watery, but there are the remains of a slightly malty ale taste here, even a slightly floral hop note. If you don't compare it to real beer, it stands up as something you can drink for lunch that's still less than half the sugar of a soda.

Redddish alle with a nice nitro head. Rather lagerish aroma but then again the beer was served cold. Malty, slightly nutty taste with little point of bitterness again like a lager. Typical commercial British/Irish ale.

Very light malt aroma. Dark brown with a small head. Dry flavor with lots of carbonation, reminded me of a cider. One dimensional, not much there.

Steady creamy Guinness-like head. Color is dark amber. Aroma is bittersweet malty, not very strong. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth but more watery than Guinness. Hops are very present giving average bitter aftertaste, which is the best thing with head in this megabrand. This used to be my favourite draught beer, so some sympathy points before possible draught re-rate :)

Perfect tanned creamy head and ebony colour. Coffee aroma. Taste is coffee aroma and roasted, even smoked malt filtered through cream head. Finishing very long with bitter and roasted mouthfeel. (7/5/9/5/18 4.4)

This one poured a orangy red with a beautiful thick creamy head. Strong scents of caramel and citrus with a little dough tossed in for good measure. First taste was watery and short lived on taste. The low carbonation thing didn't help either. The finish was short lived with a slightly malty/ bitter finish. The taste seemed to build up after a while and be more full. As for the palate there wasn't initially much to it. Still watery with a very slight bittery aftertaste. Although this doesn't sound like a good review I'm still a fan of this ale.

Amber beer with a small but lasting, creamy head. A strong aroma of malt, caramel and honey. But it’s watery without much flavour, with only a little hop aftertaste.
