Description
six°north was established in 2013. The concept was born in Belgium when founder Robert Lindsay fell in love with the country’s beer culture and tradition. He soon returned to north east Scotland to start brewing his own beers, six°north of Brussels. We make modern, artisanal beers that are driven by Belgian brewing tradition and inspired by modern brewing practices.

Our beers are unfiltered and carbonated naturally through secondary fermentation. We brew classic Belgian inspired beers, as well as modern, hop-forward styles. We also release a number of collaboration beers each year with other breweries.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Lightly hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy dry palate with good fine carbonation. Sweetish malts. Spicy dried fruits. Little citric peel. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Keg at Six Deg North. It pours cloudy amber-brown with a small beige head. The nose is soft, sweet, fresh elderflower, grassy, toffee, bread, raisins and fruit cake. The taste is bitter-sweet, toffee, caramel, spicy saison yeast, big hit of florals, grass, brown bread, alcohol boost, very earthy and wood with a warming finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good fun, but it is just a bit too boozy for me.

Many thanks to Sean for this bottle. The beer starts fresh and spicy. Great fresh yeast, easy to drink and quite mild for the 9%. The aftertaste has hints of bitterness, fresh and floral. Round and spicy-yeasty mild. Great beer!
