Poured from 473mL can. Black with dissipating tan head. Dark chocolate, mild coffee and vanilla, a touch of roast malt. A touch thin, but otherwise not bad.

Poured from the tap. Hazy dirty gold with white head. Chewy malt, subdued pine hops, chalk. Poor execution.

Deep brownish copper body and some modest foam. Smells of nice biscuit with soft yeast behind it. Tastes of sweet caramel with soft biscuit notes. Lingering sweetness, overbearing sugar. Not bad, drinkable, but brings nothing new to the table.

Pale straw body with minimal foam. Smells of very soft floral hops, nothing else. Taste is heavy light grain with sweet hops on the back end, good carbonation. Boring but okay.

Weak muddy orange body with no foam. Smells like mango for sure with just a bit of spice. Tastes like good mango nice spiciness, habanero probably, some sweetness to round it out. Smooth with good carbonation. Decent enough, good balance.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark amber colour, a bit dull, but it's clean; the medium sized head doesn't have long retention. In the nose, some malt, light perfume, anise. Full bodied, sweet, with quite good malt flavour, candi sugar, touch of caramel, some biscuity malts for good measure, and very light impression of that feared anise (or bubblegum); the alcohol is evident, and rightly so. Bold and balanced.
Pretty good, for a North American attempt.

Muddy yellow with little foam, smells of vague soft pineapple and nothing else. Flavour is all muddy pineapple, watery and too chewy. Maybe good as pineapple juice but not really a good flavoured sour.

Muddy yellow with little foam, there's strong lavender on the nose, soft lemon, sadly comes across like floor cleaner. Flavour is heavy lemony lavender, strongly acidic, overbearing really. Crisp carbonation but the floor cleaner aftertaste is too strong. Way too aggressive to be enjoyable.
