Tried at the brewery. Pours dark opaque with dark ran head. The nose comes off toasty and a little burnt. Sadly the taste also comes off harsh burn malts that are a little to rough. Bitter aftertaste. I see what they were going for here, but those grains were a little too roasted.

Presents a clear red amber with a finger of dark tan head. Low smell to it. Drinks as primarily malty odor toasted with some nuttiness as mentioned by kevinsenn below. Overall slightly sweet. An alright brew.

Starting to think that Block Three is one of the better reasons to be in St. Jacob’s. This beer pours a cloudy amber with a finger of tan head. Really nice nose that has coffee and toasty malt. Similar taste of toasted malts, coffee and bitter hops that hangs around into the finish. Don’t know how representational of a ESB this is, but I don’t mind, it’s a good beer. I don’t quite have local pro kevinsenn’s enthusiasm, but not far off.

A stop by this little brewery in St Jacob’s on a trip to the theatre (pronounced all fancy, like theee-itar.) Odd little adobe style building, but as long as they can brew. Haven’t seen this guy down in Toronto, though I’m told it can make appearances at Volo or C’est What if the brewer drops one off. And I wish we cold get it, it’s a good beer. Pours a cloudy blonde, with a finger of white head. Nice nose of grass, hay, Belgium yeastiness. The taste too has that lovely yeasty flavour, some sour notes, with wheaty malts and a lovely overall grassiness. Mildly bitterness after. Really representation of a farmhouse ale. Bring more down to Toronto!

A hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, light caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral, not bad. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2014.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of BoostIPA. Thanks brah! Wael rake. Pours a bit hazy, reddish brown appearance with a brown head. There’s a lot of cocoa powder and coffee notes in the aroma. Some nutty and toasted malt notes as well. There is maybe a faint hint of maple but it’s certainly not very strong. Kind of thin bodied. Flavor is fairly sweet (pecans, caramel, toffee, chocolate), moderately bitter (earth), and has some roast / coffee flavors. Finishes a light to moderately bitter. Could use a bit more body but not an overall bad release.
