Can, 9C. Barely hazy pale gold with a large white head that lasts well. Wheaty and spicy aroma with some vanilla, zest and a little banana, gentle floral and passionfruit notes . Light bodied, high carbonation. Not much sweetness. Tangy wheat, cloves, vanilla, oranges, tropical. Dry and quite bitter at the end, leaving a mouthful of spices. Good stuff.

Can - the cans in this series look _better_ than the pictures suggest. Red with a pink head that fades to a coat. Aroma of rosewater, apricot kernels, lemon, hay. Sweet with flower notes (and nut) like you’d find in fancy Turkish delight, with a welcome turn towards dry, bitter and slightly tart at the end. Rather dominated by the flowers and a bit too sweet but the finish makes it work pretty well.

On tap at Alehouse Project, Melbourne: This has a gorgeous boozy aroma with strong vanilla notes. The beer is black as the night. It is an explosion of flavours in the mouth with a complex interplay of vanilla, breadiness, raisins, coffee and then that long lingering bourbon-ness. Simply spectacular. I look forward to seeing what it does in the keg over the next 16 months (the final keg is reportedly being held over until late 2016!).

On tap at The Forester’s Hall (Melbourne, Australia): Gorgeous bourbon-tinged aroma. Luscious and brown/red in appearance. Hides it’s alcohol well. Bourbon barrels have imparted a welcome sweetness which contrasts with the full-bodied brownness very effectively. Was appropriately consumed at POO (Pint of Origin) venue!

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold with a loose white head. Grassy aroma with some gooseberries, grapes and mango, bread. Creamy texture, highish carbonation. Very fruity with a moderately bitter and somewhat astringent finish. Not as clean as it might be, but rambunctious and alive.

Pours gold with a white head.Nose shows soft lychee, pineapple, peach, orange blossom and delicate grainy pilsner malt. The grainy malt carries through as a flavour along with a little of the aforementioned fruit and a solvent-like note.Carbonation is too high.

Lovely bubbly tan head on black. Nose of cocoa, caramel, berries, soy, pine and licorice. Nicely fruity flavor with lots os citrus, berries, and of course chocolate. Interesting, like a huge Black IPA.
