Bottle split at the Hackobock tasting, thanks to Kenny, 24/11/16. Rich chestnut to mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is toffee, biscuit, light spice, nutty tones. Taste comprises earthy fruit rinds, light wood must, spice, brown bread, biscuit crumble, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok offering without providing any wow factor.

440ml can. Pours red brown with a white head. Aroma is strong, with plenty of pine, caramel and orange. Flavour hits the same notes with a beautiful bitter caramelised orange finish. Very nicely put together, if not the most imaginative combination.

Grand tasting at Craft Islington with Hackobock. Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and fairly dry, reasonable carbonation. Smooth malts, some light creamy sweetness. Touch of bitter toffee. Floral bitterness. Tangy fruits and a trace of dark chocolate. Fluffy dry bitter finish. Tasty - comes together well.

Bottle shared at the Hackobock tasting at Craft Islington. Thanks to Ken. It pours cloudy dark brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is toasted brown bread, wood, earth, leather and cocoa. The taste is toasty, wood, leather, bitter cocoa, liquorice, aniseed, umami, brown bread and toffee with a warming finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Not overly drinkable. Fine enough.

Bottle sample at the "Farewell to Vova Shack" tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Tom L. Hazy golden, Hoppy aroma, fruity, slightly stale. Flavor is quite dry, slightly sweetish, with a bit of malt, and slightly stale bitterish fruity hops.

Bottle shared in London - cheers! Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds leathery berries, faint chocolate, earth. Medium sweet flavour with more leathery fruits, brown bread, brown sugar, toasted bread. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Good balance in the finish with toasted brown bread, mellow cocoa, toasted toffee. Solid.
