Bottle - Lots of toast and roast with a nice hop note. Jet black with a rich light brown head. Silky on the tongue. Bitter and roasty chocolate with some toast. Nice.

Draught @ BC Beer Awards. Black medium head. Lots of chocolate malt, bitter, lots of chocolate. Very weedy hops. I'm liking it a lot, double black ipa.

Tasting at SF, Vancouver
Hazy to cloudy, yellow color. A bit smelly, but with some good character, and correct bitterness. Decent.

500mL bottle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of cereal, subdued herbal hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is odd, with subdued herbal hops, cereal notes and toasted bready malt. Inoffensive, but weak and pointless. Not good.

Hazy light tan. Very little head. On the nose, it's got a little sulphur, some footy yeast. Not really picking out any coriander or orange. Also, thematically, not sure what those have to do with whatever the theme is. So a bit of wheat, a bit of orange, but it comes across something like a weaker hefeweizen sort of thing. I don't know - I guess the base isn't great, and then I'm not sure what the spices are all about.

Bottle - A touch herbal and dirty wheat. Cloudy gold with a small frothy white head. Peppery and spice with a decent wheat note. Meh.

Bottle - Flowery with some nice lemon and herbal notes. Cloudy gold with a nice white head. Bright peel bitterness up front, and really not much else except the perfumy notes. The bitterness and bite overwhelm the beer.

Bottle - Light grains and some light hops. Clear gold with a nice white head. Light bready sweetness, touch of grain and a nice touch of hops. Exactly as advertised.

Poured from 473mL can. Black with light tan head. Lots of roast coffee, very mild chocolate and feint hint of vanilla. Slightly chalky texture, not overbearing though. Not bad, needs some minor work though.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy blond color. Delicate malt aroma with elegant esters. Good body strength, rich pale malt flavor, with moderate sweetness, a touch of toffee, straws, correct bitterness, infinitesimal fruit touch.
Nothing Trappist, nothing Tripel, hardly Belgian. Just a very good, clean, rich Strong Ale.
