Description
Calling West Toronto's Junction neighbourhood home, founders Tom Paterson and Doug Pengelly started Junction Craft Brewery (JCB) in 2011 with a mission to create the highest-quality, hand-crafted beers. Since that time the brewery has grown and expanded its product offering adding great new styles and brands available across the province.
In 2018 the business moved to its current home located in a former City of Toronto 1930's art-deco incinerator, affectionately known as 'The Destructor". Decommissioned in the 80's, used for raves in the 90's and beautifully restored in 2018, the award winning heritage building is the perfect spot to enjoy a part of Toronto's past, hangout in our intimate yet spacious taproom, grab a brewery tour and of course sample great, fresh beer.
In 2019 JCB continued its expansion adding St. Mary Axe and socially responsible beer brand Caribru to its family of products.

500 ml can from the lcbo, bottle says 4.5%. Clear copper pour, medium frothy white head. Biscuity, cracker malts, and some tame grassy hops. Soft carb, soft mouth feel. Quite a bitter finish, a little astringent, the bitterness really lingers, with a floral, grassiness. A nice session ale, but a little too bitter to be 100% sessionable.

Can from the lcbo. Clear golden pour, medium white head. Aroma is very grassy, some good pale cereals. Crisp clean mouth feel, perfect carb. Finish is quite bitter, with loads of grassy and subtle spice. This is super clear and crisp and incredibly refreshing. Great kolsch, love the bitterness, with zero sweetness. Awesome.

On tap at the beerbistro
Really nice piney, citrusy aroma. Great malts, bready, earthy.
A perfect balance. Medium bitterness, great citrucy finish. Top shelf amber ale. Reminds me of what mill street tankhouse used to be.

Fairly juicy brew. Mildly sweet malt, overlayed with citrus, some tropical fruits, resin hops and.... bitterness. Far too much bitterness. Just dominates the finish on this beer. You can see what they were hoping for, but man they just didn't pull out of the dive on this one. Can from the LCBO.

Can from the LCBO. Murky yellow orange with a one finger off white head that leaves some stringy lace. Nose is bready malts with some grass and some peach. Flavour has some mango, peach and bread with a metallic aftertaste. Mouth is medium with average carbonation. 6/3/6-/3-/11

Pours a fairly clean, light-golden colour with a big creamy-frothy warm cap, good retention and leaving some nice full creamy lacing. Spicy Saaz hops over cereal malts for aromas. The hops in the taste really stand out, creating some bitterness and a dry finish. This cuts the sweetness of the malts. A pretty hoppy Pilsner.

Pretty hazy golden-yellow colour with a frothy slight off-white cap, good stay and light foam lacing. Fairly grassy aromas from the hops with some citrus zest notes. Some particles start floating around. The mouthfeel is juicy, but a big dry-spicy finish happens quickly. Freshly zested citrus peel bitterness in the taste. The base is juicy, but the hops take control all-around, so based on NEIPA, but really a good hazy IPA with bite.

Can that pours a light hazy yellow colour with a frothy-bubbly off-white warm head, decent stay and a little foam lacing. Kind of a hoppy nose with mild grass, sourness and spiciness. It does kind of feel like this one has very light infection with the sour notes I am getting. Luckily, it does not linger on the tongue too long. Some mild bitterness, dryness and grain is left. Says 5% ABV on their site, but can shows with a sticker from LCBO at 4.3% ABV, so not sure if this is a bad batch, but still fed it to us.

On tap at Junction, pours a hazy copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lactose upfront, with a bit of rotting fruits. Flavour is full of weirdly fungal, somewhat rotting fruits, and lacto. Why make this? This is just not pleasant.
